βWoke up to MSNow doing a Prop Piece on Hakeem Jeffries. Looks like everyone is more intent on making the story about him being the first black house speaker than listening to what the people want. I used to be a supporter of his but just feel heβs same old same old. He didnβt endorse Mamdani. He didnβt speak out in support of El Sayed.
Never Forget that BAFFLING MOMENT IN April 2024, Congress had an opportunity to strengthen Americansβ privacy protections by requiring warrants for certain searches of their communications collected through federal surveillance. The amendment failed in a 212 to 212 tie. Jeffries voted AGAINST it. Had he voted yes it would have passed.
Think about that. The Democratic leader had an opportunity to protect a fundamental civil liberty and chose otherwise. π€·ββοΈ
So before the media starts celebrating the historic possibility of our first Black House Speaker, Iβd like to know exactly what kind of leadership weβre celebrating?
Per a friend of mine. βIβd like to know details of why heβd meet privately with f jarod kushner?β
Love black women so much. This is who manned my polling station. It was an army, & they all thanked me for making my voice heard π₯°π₯°π₯°
Donβt forget the blatant & overt racism. That has become so acceptable that it isnβt even acknowledged anymore.
Republicans will spend time and treasure, likely years and millions of dollars, for consultants and experts and pundits to find out what went wrong and how this happened. Save your money and donβt waste your time. The answer came 10 years ago by a Senator from South Carolina who didnβt live to see his prophetic words come to pass. βIf we nominate Donald Trump we will get destroyedβ¦and we will deserve it.β Republicans blew up their party, their values, their dignity and decency for a man who wasnβt even a Republican. Unilateral tariffs on our allies by executive orders isnβt conservative. Siding with Vladimir Putinβs murderous war in Ukraine isnβt conservative. Accepting a bribe from a foreign country in the form of an airplane that costs hundreds of millions of dollars isnβt conservative. Turning untrained thugs in masks loose in our communities to murder American citizens in cold blood isnβt conservative. Threatening to invade and conquer a sovereign country, an ally, isnβt conservative. Pardoning people who assaulted law enforcement officers isnβt conservative. The list is too long and too exhausting to contemplate. Republican law makers lit themselves on fire for a thrice married, sociopathic, mentally unstable reality tv personality who bragged about acing a test to check for dementia and spoke about the asses of male candidates for the US Senate. There was a time when I believed we should welcome any of them who finally spoke up back into polite society. But that ship has sailed. These people should live in shame for the rest of their days, shunned and repudiated in history books, never to hold a position that requires the public trust ever again.

π¨NEW: Democrat Dr. Annie Andrews has defeated Republican Darline Graham in the South Carolina U.S. Senate race, flipping this seat blue for the first time in 30 years.
RETWEET to congratulate @AnnieAndrewsMD on her historic victory!
2 years ago there was no line for the presidential election on Election Day. I was in & out in less than 15 minutes. Today there is a line. I see that small difference as an opportunity to grab onto some hope for the near future.

I promise you, the world is not divided into people who want extraordinary lives and people who don't. It's divided, in part, into people whose ambitions are supported by their circumstances and people who have to fight their circumstances just to have ambitions.
