We didn't forget about mobile, especially Android. Inspired by React Native, it drives the OS-native view layer through the same Rust codebase as the new desktop app. I think it might be the most responsive app on my phone now?
The new Discord client using less RAM is just part of the story. Clicking around feels instant, I can't go back. Check out the boot time.

We've been early adopters of Rust since 2018 and a lot of our infra, voice tech, and even some of the current client is already Rust, the holy grail was getting the whole client there. That means Electron goes away, and so does React Native, mobile keeps native UI but shares app code with desktop via Rust. We hope to get it into testing with users soon™. (And it's not Tauri, it's GPUI, so good guess everyone.) Alright, back to staring at the WoW Forever login screen.

Wife and sons are overseas. Last night I made one steak in one pan, ate it in one plate - no washing up, no mess. Kitchen is tidy, house is clean, no noise, no chaos. Everything stayed exactly where I put it. This is no way to live.

Great to speak at the first AGNTCon + MCPCon Japan in Tokyo! I shared how durable workspaces—covering isolation, snapshots, recovery, and retention—can make stateless AI agents more reliable, using Kubernetes and JuiceFS as examples. #AGNTCon #MCPCon #AgenticAI

Doing beer tasting with AI is very interesting. I can ask for critics, and find where my tastes diverge from the community. It's easier than finding a tasting pal who understand what I'm saying. If you have a niche hobby, working with AI may make it more fun :-)

Great to join at the Community Track of #CommunityOverCode Asia 2026. Five years after #JuiceFS became open source, I shared some of our experiences along the way — what we think about open source, what we’ve done, and what we’ve observed as the project and community have evolved. Five years in, still learning, building, and contributing. #OpenSource #Community #JuiceFS

Look at this. Also opencode uses freaking 11k tokens of system prompt. Even at decent pre-fill of ~130 t/s it means waiting 84 seconds to start a session. What's the point? :D The pi agent is a lot saner here. Moreover, one could say, let's cache on disk very long common KV cache chunks, no? Hash it with all the parameters and put a sensible TTL if not used. But also: only cache it if you see it repeated N times across different sessions.
