I once met @SirPatStew at a restaurant near my parish. I told him as a kid, one night I stayed up past bedtime & saw something called Star Trek. My life was never the same. He said, "If you tell me that you became a priest because of Star Trek. Sir, you would be the first!" 🥲

Archbishop Fulton Sheen: “[The] temptation which will be the temptation of the Church in the next one hundred years… Satan says: ‘Theology is politics. Why bother with theology, God, the transcendent, the mystery of redemption? The only thing that matters is politics.’”

Blessed Fulton J. Sheen, pray for us!
O God, who called the Bishop Blessed Fulton Sheen to preach the Gospel to the whole world, grant, we pray, that by following his example of prayer and devotion to the Mother of your Son, we may also be loyal sons and daughters of your Church by bearing witness to the faith.
Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. Amen.
