Do I have a different belief about the future of the robotics market than everybody else in robotics? There will be two robotics businesses in the future. 1. The actuator layer (who can make the best quality actuators at the lowest cost? These are robot makers...) and 2. the deployment layer (who can unlock value with robots for others?). Tesla will be both but leave them aside for now. Look at Unitree. Best robots in the world, why? Volume, subsidies, and making the best quality actuators at the lowest prices. The AS2 is insane for unlocking customer value. Then where does that leave the brain that works on any robot in any environment? Software is dead, remember? Those in the deployment layer will have better data and open source friends will make it so better data will be more valuable than better models with no distribution.

we have millions of dollars to spend on US robotics training data by EOY if you’re a data broker or have relationships with US businesses willing to film their work to train robots, DM me we pay for the data and offer recurring referral revenue, not just a one-time commission huge opportunity here

It’s been a wild ride for us appearing out of obscurity for this moment. I want to make one thing clear to all the commenters. These are Filipino @getundaunted teammates, not Indian. And they are an incredible part of our company. They do an insanely great job and work their tails off to keep the communities we serve safer for the families who live there. We love them
🚨#BREAKING: Absolutely WILD footage has emerged from Atlanta where an apartment complex now uses "robot security dogs" to patrol the area at night. The robot dogs also seem to speak in Indian accents to the residents. I've never seen anything like this before... insane!!!

With world models, simulating an action requires data. A company has to sit at the crossroads of a real decision and log what happens afterward. The action log is the input. Startups in the space have to get that data from somewhere to get the flywheel going.

Guy (likely on drugs) licking the window of the Hewitt Tax office in downtown Atlanta. Nobody caring. Something has to change.

Update: walking back and he was sprawled on the sidewalk. Apd officer over him telling him he needed to get up or get arrested. Good job Apd, but considering total loaded cost to the city for an officers time is $90-$100, feels like there is a better solution out there for everyone

Alignment wins. The leadership of Vincent Price and Nina King has set the stage for an unprecedented feat: winning the ACC in football and in men’s and women’s basketball. The standard is excellence, and the result is championships. 🏆🏆🏆

Under AD Nina King, Duke University is thriving across multiple sports. A former business executive, King is part of a growing trend of business-minded leaders navigating the NIL and athlete compensation era. Will more schools look outside traditional athletics backgrounds for future ADs?

No other stranger brings a smile to my face like Kevin. This man is an amazing ambassador for the city of Atlanta. He should be put on the city payroll.

Never again. On my desk in South Downtown, I keep my great-grandmother’s law diploma. She graduated top of her class as one of the first women lawyers in Germany, but she never practiced. She had to flee. I put it there to remind myself to work even harder and challenge the status quo. But since October 7th, it has also been a scary reminder of how quickly we were expelled. This past year, I’ve felt like some in American society—which I love — again want to expel me, my family, and my friends for being Jewish. However, I’ve been comforted by those who have stood by us. Small gestures—texts from friends, invitations to interfaith events, and hosting Jewish gatherings at my firm, Atlanta Ventures—have shown love and support. The fear and pain is raw from 10/7 and the following hate, but I also feel the love and reassurance from those around me. Thank you. It means so much.

Very sad to hear of the passing of Dean Gerald Wilson. His class "American Dreams, American Realities" is the class I talk about most still over a decade later. He was an incredibly warm and brilliant man who will be missed.

I have never reread my notes from undergrad, but I really enjoyed doing so last night. His class was incredible -- taught so much about both history and applying an interesting new framework to think about our world differently.

Best quote from the notes: The greatest challenge for America will not be from abroad, but from within. How can we form a common good of shared, civic values which nourish both cultural pluralism and yet individualism? Can we continue to live up to our national motto- “Et Pluribus Unum” (out of one, many). Can we continue to have shared myths that tie our shared identities closer to one another?
