“What are its Oscar chances” I don’t know but a good way to enjoy movies is not spending five months treating them like the stock market

Ooh #SenseandSensibility will THRILL the Austen purists. Simultaneously gorgeously faithful to the spirit (& letter) of the text, while coming across as totally fresh for today. The sisterly bond is sublime, Fiona Shaw steals every scene & the men are a really pleasant surprise.

I came away with a new appreciation of Elinor, Edward & Willoughby in completely different ways thanks to the wonderful work of Daisy-Edgar Jones, George MacKay & Frank Dillane in particular. This detailed adaptation will hold up splendidly for repeat viewings: I'm already ready.

Over to you now, Andrew 👀
Andrew Garfield, I know you have a secret account. Please tell us about all the arguments that are happening behind the scenes right now.

A day after adding "The Rise of Robin Hood" to online marketing, Focus is back to just "The Uprising" in the new trailer (Robin Hood thing is now a smaller footnote), while the UK distributor is outright denying it's a Robin Hood movie: metro.co.uk/2026/08/26/andre…. Incredible chaos.

Yeah, so the UK is disowning the sudden 'Robin Hoodification' of Andrew Garfield's new film The Uprising. Wild! 'The Uprising is a historical epic about the Peasants’ Revolt of 1381, not Robin Hood,' UK distributor EFD told me. Latest for @MetroUK: metro.co.uk/2026/08/26/andre…

"Will somebody get these BEGGARS out of here?" is truly a line reading for all time from Robert Pattinson, complete with that smirk and panicked blinking. Top tier! But I'm sad the meme relies on a pirated cinema clip that was up online *so fast* after The Odyssey's release day.

'It feels like there will be a ‘before The Odyssey’ and ‘after The Odyssey’ line drawn in cinema now, given how this film is going to relaunch interest in Greek mythology from a mainstream audience,' writes Tori Brazier✍️

#TheOdysseyMovie deserves more consideration than I can possibly put here, immediately post-premiere... But wow. This feels like watershed filmmaking. Simultaneously the most Christopher Nolan movie ever while being completely different to anything he's done before. Simply epic. – at London, England

Damon commands the screen in a gruelling role but there's room for exceptional acting from Pattinson, Hathaway & Holland especially. Those who know Homer's epic know the wonder in store - and I'm not sure anyone could translate it for the modern cinema screen quite like Nolan. – at Paddington, London

Universal will not host influencer screenings for Christopher Nolan‘s ‘THE ODYSSEY.’ Instead, after the film’s global premiere in London on July 6, the film will begin screening for film critics. (hollywoodreporter.com/movies…)
