For those wondering about y-axis: A volume can rise 100%, 200%, 1000%, but can only ever fall 100% Showing that on linear scale is therefore misleading coz you give more than 10x as much space to something that grows 10x, as to something that shrinks 10x Log scale fixes that.

I know this is not a competition but we learnt that slope graph was invented and introduced by Edward Tufte in TVDQI in 1983. Now I found one from 1927 by Béla Balogh.

Random find: DuPont had a chart room! Large financial charts were mounted on frames & tracks for management presentations. Remarkable that the room was used for ~50 years. hagley.org/librarynews/dupon…
