‼️ BAR/CLUB OWNERS A fellow DJ raised this recently, and I think it’s something that deserves attention becoz most us have been through the same experience. Early in my career, I worked as a resident house DJ. People often think the job starts when the music starts, but it begins long before that. Resident DJs arrive early, set up and test the equipment, make sure every speaker works, sort out sound issues, support every DJ through the night, and stay until the club closes to ensure everything is packed up properly. It is a big responsibility, yet many resident DJs earn little compared to the amount of work they put in. This is a humble request to bar owners and promoters. Please take another look at how resident DJs are compensated. Their work keeps the night running smoothly, and they deserve to be paid fairly for the value they bring.
