Bravo young men. I was DFD for 34 years. What you did is not easy. Your bravery needs to be commended.
See these two men? They are Marcus Harvey and Tre Jones from Marion, Indiana. They should be all over the news but they’re not. A few days ago they saw a house fully engulfed in flames with people still inside so they kicked in the front door and risked their own lives to save the occupants inside. None of the occupants would still be alive if it wasn’t for them. Neither one gave a second thought about anybody’s color, they just did what was right. These are the heroes that the media won’t show you.

A DEADLY MOLD THAT ATTACKS THE BRAIN IS ON THE RISE — AND EVEN HEALTHY PEOPLE ARE AT RISK A rare but dangerous mold that can cause deadly brain infections is being detected more frequently in the United States. Known as Cladophialophora bantiana, this fungus can enter the body and reach the brain, where it may form serious pockets of infection called brain abscesses. The most alarming part? Researchers estimate that the infection kills around 60% to 70% of affected patients, even when they receive powerful antifungal medicines and surgery. What makes this fungus especially concerning is that about half of reported patients have no known condition that weakens their immune system. Scientists believe the mold may enter the body through breathing in fungal particles or through wounds in the skin. It may then spread through the bloodstream to the brain. However, researchers still do not fully understand where people are exposed to this dangerous fungus. Now, scientists have discovered another worrying sign. A recent report from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) found a sharp rise in detections at a University of Washington reference laboratory. After recording roughly one to five cases per year in earlier years, the laboratory detected eight cases in 2024 and 14 in 2025. Researchers also found that the increase could not be explained simply by more testing. Despite its danger, this infection remains difficult to diagnose because its symptoms can resemble those of other brain conditions. By the time doctors identify the fungus, the infection may already be severe. Researchers are now facing an important question: Why are more cases being detected, and what is allowing this rare fungus to cause such devastating infections? Although these findings are concerning, the report does not mean that the fungus is spreading everywhere or that the general public faces an immediate widespread threat. More research is needed to understand the rise in detections, identify environmental sources, and improve early diagnosis. Source: Nelson, M. T., Truong, T. T., Bourassa, L. A., Smith, D. ICE brutally detain grandfather—in front of his autistic grandson. Agents slam him to ground & kneel on his back—while young boy watches the whole thing. Mother begs them not to traumatize her young child—they ignore her. Family is well known in the area—targeted for attack? In April 2021, The Spokesman-Review published a detailed article on the family: “A mother’s journey from Honduras to Spokane – ‘I’m going to carry my girl.’” About the journey of José Luis Arias, his wife Dania Salgado, and their daughters from Honduras. So their daughter Danna—diagnosed with leukemia at age 3—could get a stem-cell and bone-marrow transplant that was unavailable in Honduras. Family says that since then, José Luis Arias has had no criminal history—only his pending immigration case. Incident occurred in Airway Heights near Spokane, Washington. Posting first full length, English translated, and credited video here to help raise awareness.

1/2 He survived an attack by six FPV drones, despite losing both legs. And just when he thought it was the end, he simply pulled out some sausage and cigarettes. Roman—call sign "Herodotus"—celebrated his 30th birthday at his position; instead of a cake and a candle, he had a crust of bread and a match. Two and a half weeks later, he went out at night to retrieve a package. On his way back, he stepped on a mine. He shone his flashlight and saw that his foot had been shredded to pieces—his toes curled up like tubes and seared. He took a pair of scissors and trimmed away the mangled tissue. He applied two tourniquets to himself—so tightly that his damaged bones could be heard crunching. A day later, a ground robot arrived to evacuate him; along with the wounded soldier, it was also carrying the body of a fallen scout. Then the sun began to rise, and an enemy drone spotted the robot. A strike. His right leg was shredded, his body armor caught fire, and his weapon and radio were completely destroyed. He found an intact helmet, put it on, and crawled toward a nearby tree line. His left foot was gone, and he had to use his hands to reposition his right leg. His first thought was: "I survived back at the position, only to die here—and no one will ever find my body." But then he told himself, "Hell no! I survived that, and I’ll survive this, too." Another FPV drone arrived and struck from the side. Herodotus took cover under some bushes. Suddenly, he heard the company commander’s voice: "Get up and follow me!" It turned out to be our drone, equipped with a loudspeaker. The commander was guiding it like a beacon. Then came perhaps the strangest scene of the war: an enemy drone circled slowly, searching for him, while Herodotus crawled along behind it—staying out of the camera’s view. The drone struck from above. He was left dazed. A piece of shrapnel hit the back of his head but didn't penetrate the skull. Meanwhile, the drone’s battery got tangled in his hood and caught fire. Herodotus tossed it aside and crawled into the thick grass. The company commander called out through the loudspeaker: "Herodotus, show yourself—if you’re still alive!" He crawled out into the open. A package containing water arrived. Then a second one. A third. And then, landing right next to him, came another—filled with sausage, bread, and cigarettes. He devoured the sausage, had a smoke, and even managed to forget about his legs for a moment. He had thought this would be his final meal—but it turned out it wasn't. He even considered loosening his tourniquets and bleeding out, just to end the suffering. But then he remembered—he had promised his mother he would return. Gritting his teeth, he tried to figure out which way to crawl. Luck was on his side: the wind picked up, making it impossible for the enemy drones to go out hunting. Then, a few dozen meters away, voices rang out: "Herodotus! Herodotus, for f***'s sake, where are you?" It was three scouts. One of them couldn't hold back: "Holy f*ck! How the hell are you still alive, you son of a b*tch?" Herodotus just joked: "You didn't come back to 'double-check' me, did you?" They carried him on their shoulders for two and a half kilometers. Then they went back for the man who had been killed—and carried him out, too. Both of his legs had to be amputated. But Herodotus takes it in stride—even with a sense of humor. "Look at what I’ve got instead of legs," he says with a smile, lifting his stumps and singing out, "Tra-ta-ta, tra-ta-ta!.." "What am I supposed to do—cry? I’m alive, so things should be fine. Life can turn into a total sh*tshow, but we’ll pull through." Everything will be alright—nobody abandoned me. Not my family, not my girlfriend. As soon as he got a signal, he called her and said, "I’ve lost both my legs." She replied, "Oh, God!" He asked, "So, what—you don't love me anymore?" She shot back, "Are you an idiot? I’m coming over there to beat you up..."

When I see a picture of this kid (Nolan Wells), I wonder if justice will ever be served? It wasn't for Emmett Till, Edgar Evers or many other blacks in Mississippi. Mississippi was once in the top three of the most racist states in the America. The way things look today with this case, not much has changed. A grand jury declared that there wasn't enough evidence to charge anyone associated with Nolan Wells with a crime. The grand jury ruled he accidentally drowned. Even though the autopsies didn't show any water in his stomach, lungs or throat. How did they come to that conclusion? The sketchy part is that everyone around Nolan Wells deleted and erased messages on their cellphones and lied about many of the circumstances surrounding the case. Kinda looks like Mississippi is just being Mississippi. I'll have to come back to this one.

This goes for anxiety, grief, loss, or even a lack of confidence. I find this technique and this idea really interesting and helpful. It’s difficult to put into words, but there is a time and place to embrace the uncertainty and “hug the cactus” as I’ve sometimes heard it described. Break the chain of negativity, and be open to light and positivity in your life. Remember to make room for the good. This is a message that I don’t often get to discuss but I think it’s an important conversation, I have found this helpful, and I hope maybe it can help someone else. There is no one perfect way to get through any challenge as long as you are kind to yourself, and those around you. Keep moving forward 💛
