Greg Jericho does an outstanding job showing how profit gouging by multi national companies is accepted and promoted by govt while the working class suffers Cost-of-living crisis? You wouldn’t know it by looking at these companies’ profits | Greg Jericho theguardian.com/business/gro…

We are SO betrayed by world leaders.
Today's decision by Labour to approve new drilling in the North Sea is climate vandalism. It's a betrayal of all of our futures, and Labour has abandoned all credibility in the fight against climate change. This is a victory for Shell over the people.

Jess Wilson has a rather remarkable proposition for the people of Kew tonight: give her another four years in Parliament, but don’t expect her to give you one evening of her time. Tonight is Kew’s only community candidates’ forum. Once every four years, candidates have the opportunity to front the people whose votes they’re asking for, defend their record and answer questions about what they intend to do next. Jess Wilson has decided she’d rather not. Instead, there’s an empty chair with her name on it. Which is a rather fitting illustration of how much accountability the people of Kew can apparently expect from their local MP. Four years ago, her former boss Josh Frydenberg did exactly the same thing to the people of Kooyong. Apparently, facing your own electorate is becoming an optional extra in the Liberal Party. Jess Wilson wants another four years representing Kew. She just doesn’t want to spend one evening answering to it.

beyond the obvious pedagogical flaws with teaching scripts, remember that they are generally produced by transnational corporations who generate serious economic profit for themselves by (wrongly) convincing teachers that scripts make teaching more equitable and efficient.
Actors use scripts. Musicians use sheet music. Surgeons follow established procedures. Why are scripts for teachers treated as an affront to professionalism? @ehanford explains why Direct Instruction uses them.

Pauline Hanson is a huge part of the problem. This One Nation cartoon from 2024 ends with Daniel Andrews being intentionally run over by Bluey. The ending heavily implies Anthony Albanese is intentionally run over too. It has more than 500,000 views on Youtube xitter.cf/PaulineHansonOz/status…

Obscene bank profits are never enough - $15.1b in combined profits and they still hunt for ways to sack thousands of staff - this time using AI as the driver. The issue here is the profits, not the workers.

Good news. One Nation’s Colleen Harkin says there are no plans to do anything about abortion access and it will remain untouched. Well, that settles it. Please don’t read the next six tweets. 1/7

The reason why relentless risk-takers are so insanely magnetic is because what many perceive to be luck, witnessing them be caught by life repeatedly, inspires an interrogation of the validity of their own lack of belief that the same is possible for themselves. What are you waiting for? You are the permission. Puncture reality.
