Happy #NeurodiversityCelebrationWeek!🌈
Whether it’s dyslexia, ADHD, autism, dyspraxia, dyscalculia or any other neurodivergent thinking, the world needs all kinds of minds to solve the big problems of tomorrow. 🚀
How are you celebrating neurodiversity in your classroom this week?

Suicide is now the LEADING cause of death for US medical residents.
We are losing 500 physicians a year. That is an entire med school class. Stop demanding "resilience" from doctors and start fixing the system.
Tie executive bonuses to wellness, not just RVUs.

Posters for Jess's Rule are now being rolled out to GP surgeries.
Inspired by the legacy of Jess Brady, who died tragically from cancer could have been caught earlier, Jess's Rule, is part of our commitment to support GPs to help patients get the right care sooner.

Invisible Disabilities Week is Oct 19–25
Not all disabilities are visible - but they deserve recognition, respect & support
For people with #LongCovid, disbelief has real consequences.
Invisible doesn’t mean imaginary.

This week is #Type2DiabetesPreventionWeek 🔵 How effective are referrals to the NHS Diabetes Prevention Programme?
We funded research to find out, discovering that a referral reduces someone’s chance of developing type 2 diabetes by 20%. The study also made some suggestions for improving the programme further.

Women in medicine:
- Earn less.
- Are less likely to be in leadership.
- Have fewer research opportunities.
- Spend more hours on domestic responsibilities.
Yet, they still spend more time with patients and provide better care.
The bias against women needs to END.
With every Geopolitical move, this Physician is just calculating the lasting impact on health of humans-wars ,displacement, children surviving this chaos, mental health.
And how much more the health systems will have to work to stabilise health of the human race.
All of us are in it

THank you so much for sharing Frances!
Thanks so much for my copy of @gspencegreen’s fab new memoir, chronicling her “journey from idealistic medical student to spinal-injury patient, and then to qualified doctor and vocal disability activist.”

It's great to see #dyslexia being discussed in the @HouseofCommons . Our thanks to Peter Swallow MP for his question about the MOD signing our Dyslexia Friendly Workplace Pledge. We hope to see other Government departments follow their lead and demonstrate their support for #DyslexicPeople.
