Your quant has a TV in his room.
My quant has a whiteboard in his room.
We are not the same.

POV: Legend @dogemos got me onboarded to @Zcash in less than a minute at @token2049 using his @vizorwallet.
You can always tell when a wallet and its onboarding experience are built by a pro!
> No seed phrase hassle
> No gas fees
> No phone number
> Nothing complicated
Bullish
When the Orchard bug dropped and ZEC went from $600 to $300, you either ran for the exits or realized this was a generational entry opportunity.
Because look at what actually happened:
1. Zcash researchers were already leading the AI + security research direction.
2. No sweeping things under the rug, full public disclosure at the cost of very public fud (including all the "it's unverifiable" takes).
3. They realized formal verification is inevitable, and went all in on it before it was mainstream.
4. Executed a non-backwards compatible hard fork, and pulled off the wallet / exchange / miner comms coordination in weeks (rather than months, and anyone with experience knows crypto coordination is the hard part, not the implementation).
Knowing what to work on, plus the high agency to actually do it. This combo is about to be THE most important skill set in the age of AI.
Most have one, but rarely both. My quants proved they had both. This is important, because from now on you have to assume everything that CAN be compromised WILL be compromised.
Zcash folks realized the best form of defense is going full offense on leading the tech.
"ZEC has no moat because other chains can just upgrade with the same thing" I hear you say.
That's the most midcurve cope take out there.
You can replicate the features, the code, the upgrade. You can't upgrade the team and the culture.
They'll be playing catch up forever, while the Zcash gang is already on the next thing.
The coin is $ZEC, and it's on sale for 1223 united states dollars.
Hodl it and spend it on @vizorwallet.
leaving an exchange, taking self custody, and shielding your zec for the first time on @vizorwallet.
that deserved more than a progress bar.
(humblebrag, the haptics are really cool too)
They call it uptober because i've been staying up and ober and ober again this month doing incident response.
This is the most serious 48 hours in cybersecurity history.
"Black October" they're calling it
It seems every *hour* there's a new incident, that in a typical year, would be one of the biggest incidents of the *entire year*
SUMMARY OF THE LAST 48 HOURS:
YEAR-LEVEL INCIDENTS (In a typical year, these would be among the biggest incidents of the year):
1. PHP2Shell: a hole in the software behind ~70% of websites. Governments took sites offline.
2. eMudhra: the master keys that prove websites are real were cracked. One was the number 4.
3. California: data on every public school student since 2023 stolen, including disability status
4. Railway: hackers stole customers' secret keys from a hosting platform used by millions of developers
5. Zeabur: 321,810 accounts breached. The company is shutting down.
6. LiteLLM: an AI tool downloaded 3.4 million times a day was poisoned with a password stealer
7. GitLab: a 10-out-of-10 severity hole in every version since 2014
8. Cairn: criminals used an AI hacking tool to break into 100+ companies
9. Ahold Delhaize: hackers knocked the owner of Food Lion and Stop & Shop offline
10. Onamae: malware planted on up to 26,739 customer servers in Japan
MONTH-LEVEL INCIDENTS (In a typical month, these would be among the biggest incidents):
11. Signal: a bug could leave your mic and camera on after you hang up
12. NGINX: 3 critical holes in software running ~1/3 of websites
13. HTTP/3: a single connection can crash 7 of the 10 web server types tested
14. Plex: hackers breaking into home media servers
15. SafePay ransomware: FBI warns it has hit 600+ critical infrastructure organizations
16. Palo Alto: ransomware gangs breaking in through company firewalls
17. Bullhorn: platform used by 10,000+ companies knocked offline
18. Medi-Cal: 970,000 patients' data stolen
19. WordPress: hackers stole a plugin maker's keys and used them to plant backdoors on websites
20. AOMEI: backup software's update server handed out a backdoor
21. Meta Muse: Meta's AI agent exposed users' personal and business secrets
22. Tor: 333 relays hijacked to steal logins
23. TiDB Cloud: database company's cloud breached
Also serious:
24. State Bank of India: India's biggest bank confirms a data breach
25. OVHcloud: hackers slipped a password stealer into a cloud company's official tool
26. Siemens: a software hole being used to spread malware
27. North Korea: state hackers launch a new attack campaign on South Korea
The good news is that @vizorwallet just added full screen support for iPhone duo.

Interesting fact: as of today, this is powered by the most efficient and practical PIR scheme.
Under the hood, there is a ciphertext compression mechanism called packing.
A paper came out a month ago that optimized the packing throughput by 5x compared to the prior state of the art. It’s called ReInsPIRe.
The buffer introduced by the speed up has allowed us to reduce parameters controlling decryption correctness. The security parameters stay the same.
With more room for noise, we applied a number of tricks such as rounding encryption at the client/server boundaries, which reduced total bandwidth.
There are also GPUs involved for the matrix-vector multiplication of the database by the client query.
The results are sub 200KB total per-query bandwidth and sub 50ms server time on a 1.88 GB database.
The wallet PIR databases are sharded into chunks of under 500 MB. So, in production, the server time and bandwidth are even smaller.
Two more steps in simplifying Osmosis are voting onchain.
Prop 1051: active validators go from 70 to 30.
Prop 1052: stakers' share of non-OSMO taker fees goes from 22.5% to 47.5%. The burn share is unchanged.
Voting ends October 14.

A Zcash wallet that requires zero knowledge about zero knowledge.
@dogemos of @vizorwallet shows how better onboarding, gift cards and shielding can bring private money to more people.
#ZcashZummit2026
lmao
it took Zcash devs less than 24h to design against the recent fearmongering
in fact, Zcash will be resistant (on transparent side) by January
$10,000
Here's our plan for quantum-safe, unlinkable, rotating taddrs. Possible with Zcash, today.
While others are worrying about the viability of rotating transparent addresses, we're already solving linkability.

If you believe the guy whose roadmap included two years of “pilling and speccing” over the guys who shipped a formally verified, quantum recoverable shielded pool migration in seven weeks, I have a bridge to sell you

Why does ZCash hold a lot of the intellectual center in 2026? No bullshit Justin fearmongering, more realistic Vitalik rationales from people who can think like our friend here
People read one emotional Matt Green tweet about public key encryption, spent 0 seconds thinking about it, and decide to panic.
Sure ECDLP will be broken with QC's one day. But there's so many levels to this being wrong to panic over.
- 0 actual progress on attacking anything
- We have tons of alternate plans available.
- Quadratic advantage hash-based PKE
- Lattices
- Multivariate polynomials
- A whole field of KEM's from fine grained cryptanalysis. (Fun fact, works even if P=NP)
Sure you can wake-up and choose doomer and be wrong.
We have decades of cryptography to draw from on for all the above options, AND how to build a lot of what we want from UX tweaks without PKE. PKE just made a lot much easier, and less web of trust routing like.
Great to see gift cards become the gold standard in $ZEC onboarding.
Zillions.
