Here’s a spooky neuro case: An 18 yo returning traveler presents with encephalopathy. He is unresponsive. LP results pending. MRI shows symmetric hyperintensities in thalami, brainstem. DWI of the pons reveals this distinctive pattern of restricted diffusion: Dx? 1/
