The gavel has been struck today for the second part of the fifth session of the Intergovernmental Negotiating Committee to develop an international legally binding instrument on #plasticpollution Excited to observe these negotiations and connect with other experts in this space.

The quantity and type of MPs and NPs vary greatly from person to person. And, no, It is not just PE plastics (false positive artefacts)
Why this much variation?
Seabirds chicks have been shown to ingest plastic waste provided by their parents and damaged include harm to their stomach lining, cell rupture and neurodegeneration similar to Alzheimer’s.

While conducting experiments on microplastics settling dynamics when aggregated with algae, we noticed something curious: with high particle conc, behavior was different. We now assessed how settling behavior is influenced by other particles in suspension. pubs.acs.org/doi/abs/10.1021…
