The games industry is becoming an industry bound by collective trauma. This isn't the space people need to dream up worlds and new experiences. It's pomp and brutality. They stand on stage and preach art knowing full well that jobs, dreams and opportunities are being quashed for bottom lines. I am pessimistic about the industry but eternally optimistic about the people that persevere within it. They need better leadership, and they deserve better leaders.
Modern PCs are built with countless permutations and combinations of hardware, it’s harder to develop for than consoles which are mostly uniform!
Sometimes things were just fun and not everything needed to be meticulously balanced to be worth including in the game
