a pure heart also doesn’t mean soft, weak or fragile… it means I don’t intend to harm you if you don’t intend to harm me…

Longnü, meaning "Dragon Girl" or "Dragon Maiden,"
is a prominent celestial figure in Chinese Buddhism and folk tradition who serves as a devoted attendant and acolyte to the bodhisattva Guanyin (Avalokiteshvara).
Key Identity and Origins
•Identity: She is traditionally identified as the eight-year-old wise daughter of the nāga (dragon) king Sāgara (or the Dragon King of the Eastern Sea).
•Acolyte Pairing: She is frequently depicted standing at the right hand of Guanyin, paired with another young attendant named Sudhana (or Shancai).
•Symbolism: She is typically portrayed as a serene young girl holding a luminous, precious pearl, which represents purity, wisdom, and Buddhist enlightenment.
Ne Zha and Longnu (Dragon Maiden) come from distinct traditions in Chinese mythology, though they both connect to dragon lore and are paired together.
Heroic Journey of Ne Zha—Long Nu is primary co-protagonist and ally who journeys alongside Ne Zha to fight demons, restore water tribes, and resolve conflicts with the dragon clans.
Shen Xiaobao is a major supporting character in the Chinese animated fantasy film Ne Zha 2(2025). He is introduced as a young leopard demon, the younger brother of the recurring antagonist Shen Gongbao (Fabolous), and the second son of the Earth Immortal-level demon king, Shen Zhengdao.
Character Profile & Attributes
•Physical Appearance: He is a 12-year-old male demon standing at 135 cm (4'5") with brown hair and striking green eyes. In his newly cultivated human form, he retains small, distinct facial markings that hint at his original leopard origins.
•Personality: Xiaobao is depicted as playful, humble, and obedient. He deeply admires his older brother, Shen Gongbao, and fiercely protects his family.
Narrative Role and Tragic Fate
Shen Xiaobao's storyline acts as a major emotional catalyst and a turning point for Shen Gongbao’s character arc in Ne Zha 2.
Having recently mastered his human form at the secluded Feitian Waterfall, Xiaobao seeks out Shen Gongbao in hopes of being recommended for admission into the prestigious Jade Void Palace. When this proves unsuccessful, he returns home to find his father, Shen Zhengdao, attempting to peacefully surrender to the Chan Sect's Monster Hunting Team. Impulsively jumping into battle to save his father, Xiaobao injures a disciple, prompting a deadly retaliation from the deity Lu Tong. [1, 2]
Despite his father's efforts to shield him, Xiaobao is severely wounded by a magical arrow. He manages to escape and reunite with his brother, but ultimately succumbs to his severe injuries. His tragic death is weaponized by the Innumerable Celestial Lord (Wuliang Xianweng) to manipulate Shen Gongbao, fueling the systemic prejudice and thematic conflicts that drive the film's climax.
Shen Gongbao (Chinese: 申公豹) is a major character in the Chinese novel Investiture of the Gods (Fengshen Yanyi). He is a disciple of Yuanshi Tianzun and a junior fellow apprentice of Jiang Ziya. After learning that Jiang Ziya (Jay Z) had been chosen to assist the Zhou dynasty and carry out the investiture of the gods, Shen Gongbao turns against him and supports the Shang dynasty. He persuades various practitioners, including members of the Jiejiao, to oppose Jiang Ziya and the Zhou forces.
He later breaks a promise made to Yuanshi Tianzun not to interfere with Jiang Ziya (Jay Z) and is punished by being placed in the North Sea eye. At the end of the novel, he is included in the investiture and appointed the General Who Divides the Waters of the Eastern Sea.
Identity and Background
•Species & Appearance: A leopard demon who can shape-shift, featuring black hair, green eyes, and a distinct stutter.
•
•Origin: Unlike privileged celestial figures, he comes from a non-human background and faced racial discrimination, leaving him at the lower rungs of the divine hierarchy.
•
•Relationships: He is the martial brother of Taiyi Zhenren (Timbaland), the former master/trainer of Ao Bing (A Boogie), and right-hand to Ao Guang (Aubrey Drake Graham).
•
Role and Motivations
•The "Small-Town Swot": Shen Gongbao is deeply driven by insecurity, ambition, and a desperate desire for recognition. Despite being diligent, he was passed over for the last spot among the Twelve Golden Immortals simply because of his leopard origins, while his less capable martial brother Taiyi Zhenren was chosen.
•
•The Switch: Fueled by jealousy and a sense of profound injustice, he defied the natural order by swapping the Spirit Pearl and the Demon Orb, giving the Spirit Pearl to Ao Bing (Artist) and the Demon Orb to Nezha (Nasir).
•
•Character Evolution: While portrayed as purely deceitful and cunning in the first movie, Ne Zha 2 gives his character tragic depth, exploring his personal struggles, family ties, and a shifting sense of honor when faced with greater threats.
Shiji Niangniang (Chinese: 石磯娘娘; lit. 'Lady Rock') is a character in the 16th-century Chinese novel, Fengshen Yanyi.[1] She was a 10,000-year-old yaoguai, originally a stone, born outside the heavens and the earth during the Chaos and Xuanhuang eras. Shiji is worshipped as a deity in Chinese folk religion.
• The Chinese classical novel Fengshen Yanyistates that Shiji was originally a natural stone that received the essence of the sun and the moon. Shiji is said to have been born beyond the cosmos and became a divine spirit by undergoing the conditions of earth, water, fire and air. After 10,000 years of cultivation, this stubborn stone is said to have finally become a human figure by spiritual processes.
• Shiji was later accepted by the heavenly master Tongtian Jiaozhu (Lil Wayne) as a student. After attaining Taoism, it still took thousands of years to practice. Although the speed of her practice was very slow, because of countless years of efforts, Shiji developed a profound understanding of Tao. As far as her comprehensive strength is concerned, it is still above Taiyi Zhenren.
• Shiji lives in the White Bone Cave of Skull Mountain, and she had two apprentices under the gate, namely, Biyun Tongzi and Caiyun Tong'er. One day, Nezha shot an arrow and unintentionally killed the gatekeeper Biyun Tongzi. Shiji came to seek revenge for the death of Biyun Tongzi by killing Nezha (Nasir) and his father Li Jing (Mase) . Nezha could not beat Shiji and his master Taiyi Zhenren came to protect him. Taiyi attacked Shiji and burned her with Nine-dragon-fire-net. While trapped in this net, Taiyi summoned several dragons which unleashed a large volley of fire into the net; instantly killing Shiji and turning her back into her original form as a molten rock. She was appointed as the Yue Youxingjun (月遊星君 "Moon-Wandering Star Lord") in the end.
