As an early years professional I wholeheartedly agree with professional love, and practice this in our nursery. Great blog and I’ll be sharing this with my team 💚
Thank you Chris - your continuing support means a lot to me 💐❤️

(3/3)... which enabled them to feel happy, safe and secure in their learning and play while I was at work. Communication & positive relationships with the family is key, so that they understand that "professional love" benefits their child and in no way undermines familial love.

(2/3)..."meaningful, loving interactions" and these relationships are key to learning and teaching. When I was returning back to work after maternity leave and putting my own children into nursery as 1 year olds all I wanted was for my children to be shown "professional love"...

(1/3) I loved your blog, thank you. My view on "love" has changed during my 16 years as an Early Years Teacher. I used to think my role was just about learning and teaching and it wasn't my role to love the children, however I now believe that everything starts and builds from.. – at Scotland, United Kingdom
That’s wonderful to hear Susan - thank you for sharing. Parents are key to my theory of Professional Love.

This year, for the first time ever, I had a parent thank me for the professional love I had shown them and their child. Despite many years working in Early Years, I had never heard this! I feel exonerated for loving all the children I have been privileged enough to connect with.
Gosh how humbling, Aimee - thank you very much indeed. 😊💐

I think about your work on professional love at least once a day - it just chimes clearly with so many experiences of colleagues and our student teachers. I can’t tell you how many times I have said ‘ooooh have you read Jools Page?’
After much deliberation and numerous requests, I have finally written a blog on Professional Love which you can find here: blogs.brighton.ac.uk/profess…
Let me know your thoughts about the content folks? Your feedback is much welcomed!
An absolute joy & privilege to be invited to speak at two events this week: on Tuesday I gave a keynote at the @NurseryWorld birth to 3 conference & on Thursday I gave a seminar to colleagues @UOBAcademies #ProfessionalLove

@drjoolspage explaining how the embodied form of dance can make visible the minutiae of critical Professional Love moments - those moments that feel like ‘love’ in a professional context.
