Harry Markowitz, the Nobel laureate who invented modern portfolio theory: "Every fund from Bridgewater to Citadel runs on one equation I wrote as a 25-year-old grad student. Wall Street pays quants $500K to use it. It's free." the thread above teaches you to build a portfolio the real way, with the mathematics of capital allocation. every line of it traces back to one paper markowitz wrote in 1952. before him, "don't put all your eggs in one basket" was folklore. he turned it into algebra. he proved a portfolio's risk isn't the average of its parts, it's driven by how the parts move together, the covariance. combine assets that don't move in lockstep and you cut risk without giving up return. that is the closest thing to a free lunch in all of finance, and he wrote the exact equation for how much of it you get. that single insight, mean-variance optimization, is the engine under every serious fund on earth. renaissance, bridgewater, citadel, your pension, all of them size risk with markowitz's math. he published it in 1952, won the nobel in 1990, and it sits in every textbook and this free lecture. same story i keep telling: the math that runs the trillion-dollar machine has been public and free for seventy years. here is the part markowitz himself warned about. the equation is only as good as the numbers you feed it, your estimates of return and covariance. feed it garbage and the "optimal" portfolio it hands back is confidently, precisely wrong, and it detonates in the exact crisis it was built to survive. the optimizer is free. estimating the future honestly, and knowing when to distrust your own inputs, is the entire job.

2018: Rajini emptied classrooms. 2026: Those students are probably parents now. And Rajini is STILL filling full theatres ! 50 years. 75 years young. Generations of fans. The world has changed. His entertainment hasn’t. Stars have fans. #Rajinikanth has generations. #Jailer2
Today class rooms turn empty and it looks like #2Point0 is full. @rajinikanth still rules the box office.

My battalion gets to interview the people who interview. HR leaders meet student learners at Future of Work roundtable. My hope: they leave with fewer fears, better questions and the confidence to take their next step. #FutureOfWork

We prepare students for their careers. Are we preparing them to help when someone’s life is at stake? In campus 1,200+ students volunteered for lifesaving training with Ganga Hospital’s team and two AIIMS doctors. Every campus should teach this. ❤️ #BystanderToLifesaver

Habits make everything possible. Consistency compounds outcomes.

After years of studying over 10,000 students, one thing is clear: Talent is overrated. Discipline, consistency, and the right practice are what truly drive success in any career.

A career doesn’t begin with an offer letter. It begins with preparation. Today we launch LAUNCHPAD: From Campus to Corporate, an initiative to move students beyond “How do I get a job?” to “How do I become someone companies want to hire?” Delighted to host Mr. Vishal Chinchure

The moment we think we are no longer coachable, life enrols us in an advanced course, with surprise tests and no answer key! 😄 The wisest person in the room is often the one still taking notes.

Delighted to see the delegation of students from the @unisouthampton UK and Delhi led by Dr Sabu Padmadas and Dr. Prakash Kandpal. When young minds connect industry, technology, research and society, curiosity becomes innovation. #HigherEducation 🇮🇳 🇬🇧
Glad to have interacted with professors and the brilliant student delegation from the University of Southampton, UK, along with officers from Delhi’s Environment Department at Delhi Secretariat today. The students presented their study titled “Promoting Clean Air in Delhi NCR”, sharing thoughtful ideas and practical solutions to address the region’s environmental challenges. We discussed key issues such as vehicular and industrial emissions, biomass burning, river rejuvenation, better technology and innovation. I also shared the Delhi Government’s roadmap and future plans under the leadership of Hon’ble CM Smt. @gupta_rekha ji, reaffirming our commitment to building a cleaner, greener and more sustainable capital. It was wonderful to see the youth stepping up as true partners in this mission. I encouraged them to keep aiming high, exploring new horizons and pursuing their dreams with confidence and self-belief. Wishing every student a bright, successful and impactful journey ahead!

The future belongs to hybrids. Employers won’t pay for one #skill anymore. They’ll pay for people who combine: Business judgment Digital fluency Data literacy AI proficiency Communication Leadership The premium isn’t in any one box. It’s in checking all of them.

His father is a truck driver. He failed every subject in college. He then launched India's first reusable hybrid rocket and built a company now valued at ₹800 crore. Here is how it happened. Anand Megalingam grew up in Tamil Nadu, walking six kilometres to school every day. When he joined college to study Electrical and Electronics Engineering, he failed every single subject in his first semester. Every single one. His love of sports saved him. It earned him a seat at a private college where, almost by accident, he enrolled in Aeronautical Engineering. The subject took over his life. He competed. He won. And when he had enough prizes and enough conviction, he founded Space Zone India in December 2021. Before he built a rocket, he did one more thing. He made his father a co-founder and 50% stakeholder of the company. "My dad has been there from the beginning, supporting me through every challenge," he said. Work on RHUMI-1 began in January 2023. Tight deadlines. Limited funding. The first prototypes did not work. Regulatory hurdles piled up. The team triple-checked everything until the last minute. On August 24, 2024, at the coastal village of Thiruvidandhai in Tamil Nadu, Anand pressed the ignition button. Nothing happened for four seconds. "These four seconds were probably the longest four seconds of my life," he said. "I remember that the entire year, my team, the government, and everyone's hopes flashed before my eyes." Then RHUMI-1 lifted off. India's first reusable hybrid rocket, powered by a combination of solid fuel and liquid oxidizer, rose from a mobile launch pad, reaching suborbital space and carrying three cube satellites and 50 PICO satellites for atmospheric climate research. The boy who once failed every subject launched India's first reusable rocket from a beach in Tamil Nadu. And his father's name is on the company. That was Anand's first decision; Before the rocket, before the launch and before any of it.

Your phone can steal your attention. Or build your future. The difference? What you install. What you follow. What you feed your mind. Your home screen may be quietly designing your life.
