i wont be happy until the gif format has been eradicated. it's been outdated since 2001 and should've been made redundant by webp a decade after that. but apparently this $44 billion dollar company can't afford to support any media formats made after 2004. anyways all hail webp.

I feel like I should say I'm specifically talking about comparing GIF to WebP regarding animated images. generally i will still use a png or jpeg for normal images. Also I know avif and jxl are better but their support is even worse currently.
