Octavio Daniel Cabrera Valdez was at work when ICE took him away from the family he was raising in San Antonio. He’s been at the Karnes detention center since April.
Today, I’ll meet again with Octavio and others to check on their wellbeing and monitor conditions.
Octavio said there isn’t always enough food and he goes to bed hungry. He gets rashes from not having soap to wash his clothes. When he had a migraine, ICE let him languish for hours before giving him medicine.
Back home, Octavio’s young son and daughter are suffering too. He was the family’s breadwinner. His partner and children had to move out of their apartment. They’ve lost more than their home—they’ve lost time together. Since being locked away, he has missed birthdays, Mother’s Day, and the kids’ back to school.
Octavio should be released immediately and reunited with his family.

I use to load Red Baron Pizza trucks and my dad was a route driver for Schwans for 14 years.
These folks work their tails off. They sacrifice time away from their families.
I've met the owner, Marvin Schwan. He valued his employees and would've never put up with what happened to the gentleman in what I assume was Walmart wearing the Red Baron uniform.
Marvin would've adamantly defended his employee.
Red Baron better do the right thing here and make sure that man is taken care of.
If not, I'll never purchase a Red Baron, Freshetta, or Tonys, or Schwans pizza for as long as I live or anything affiliated with Red Baron, including Orion food systems.
They'd be best served making a public statement supporting their employee.
