The free Duplicator plugin just got some of Pro's best tools.
Duplicator Lite 5.0 now runs on the same engine as Pro. You can now restore in one click, store backups in Duplicator Cloud, and encrypt them.
Here's how the new free features work 👇
There's no best backup setting for WordPress.
AutoTune, the settings tester built into Duplicator, runs real test backups on a site’s server until one finishes. We looked at where 2,000+ sites ended up.
Here are our results and what they mean for your backup settings 🧵

Most of your Black Friday shoppers show up within an hour or two of your sale email going out. Will your store still be standing when they do? 🤔
Black Friday is November 27th, so this is the week to get your online store ready.
Here are the 4 checks we'd run before the chaos begin:
✅ Speed: Let your caching plugin speed up your home, product, and blog pages. Never cache the cart, checkout, or My Account pages.
✅ Prepare: Multiply your email list size by your open rate and click rate. That's your CHAOS. Send that number to your host 2 to 3 weeks before the sale.
✅ Stock: In @WooCommerce, turn on stock tracking, stop backorders, switch on low stock email alerts, and hold stock in carts while people pay.
✅ Backups: Back up using @DuplicatorWP and update everything this week. Take a fresh backup on November 20th, then change nothing.
Save this post for later, and tell us which check is still on your list. Don't forget to follow @WPBeginner for more tips👇

WP Crontrol has a new home with the Duplicator team.
More than 300,000 WordPress sites use WP Crontrol to see, run, and pause scheduled tasks. Version 2.0 is out today, and the Pro features are now free.
Here's what's new 🧵
Ask AI about your cron jobs.
WP Crontrol 2.0 supports the WordPress Abilities API. A connected assistant (through WPVibe) can:
• List cron events
• Run and pause events
• Turn on logging
• Read logs and insights
For safety, it can't create or edit PHP or URL cron events.
Major thanks to John Blackbourn, who built WP Crontrol and looked after it for 14 years. It's in good hands.

Migrating a nonprofit website has one risky window: the gap between your backup and the DNS switch.
Your backup is a snapshot. Donors keep giving on the old site, and any gift made after the backup won’t be on the new site.
Here’s how to move without losing donations 🧵
To finish the migration:
• Reconcile your donation records
• Switch DNS and remove your hosts file entry
• Update your payment webhooks
• Run a test donation and check the receipt
Keep the old host for at least a week and check it daily for late gifts.
We migrated a nonprofit site to show you all of the important steps (using @wpcharitable and Duplicator) 👇
