I was a Bitcoin maxi. We were told small blocks would keep it ultra secure and decentralized, and payments would be built on layer twos
They said self-custodial Lightning could scale and custodial wallets are temporary. Nope. Anyone who spoke the truth was ridiculed
That’s why we are hard forking Bitcoin. We are building the layer twos that were promised to us. Either Bitcoin will do the simplest soft fork, or it will be replaced
ECASH is not like other hard forks. It is not like other altcoins. It is the altcoin to end all altcoins
ECASH is not actually making any upgrades that Bitcoin cannot make itself. The blocksize will be decreased to 400kb and we are adding drivechains. Bitcoin can do this today, and the software to do it has been built
If you don’t know what drivechains are, now is a good time to learn. The fork is coming in August, and if Bitcoin doesn’t act soon, it will be too late
ECASH holders will be richer and more sovereign than Bitcoiners can hope for

I’ve always liked the idea of Drivechains.
Sidechains are an exciting way to do all kinds of cool things in a bitcoin context, and I support anyone that stands up to the Core Cabal.
Could be an interesting time in bitcoin coming up with lots of competing ideas again!
How did a decade of sidechain research and Bitcoin debate end in a fork?
It started with Drivechains, @Truthcoin’s proposal to connect Bitcoin to sidechains.
Here’s the eCash (ECX) backstory, explained 🤓

BREAKING: New Bitcoin Fork
I am helping create a **new Bitcoin Hardfork** -- dropping this August, called "eCash".
- Your coins will split. For example, if you have 4.19 BTC, then you will get 4.19 eCash.
- You may sell your eCash -- or keep it. Or ignore it!
Vegas:
- Yes, I will be in Vegas next week.
- No, I won't mention this, on stage -- (that would be rude).
Our L1 Node...
- is a near-copy of Bitcoin Core.
- is Sha256d mined.
- forks via a one-time difficulty-reset -- to its minimum value. (So, mining will be crazy at first.)
- Yes, we will change the seed nodes, the name, the network magic, etc.
Codewise, the L1 will remain compatible with Bitcoin Core:
- We will continue to merge their changes (even the bad ones).
- The L1 will activate Bip300/301 via CUSF -- the core untouched soft fork. So, no lines of code will be changed, on the L1.
- The activation client will be published periodically (link below).
- We will do several bug bounty contests this summer.
- The client will be frozen 30 days prior to the fork.
Yes, there will be Drivechains:
- We have 7 in developement right now.
- Users can also submit their own.
- Drivechain is a vision of "competing L2s" -- this avoids the "dev capture" problem.
- These L2s are all Merged Mined. Miners automatically get free $.
- Our L2s are already capable of planetary scale, and onboarding 8 billion users.
- We also have a zCash-like L2, with strong privacy.
- Other L2s: Truthcoin (Prediction Markets), CoinShift (Decentralized Exchange), BitAssets (NFT etc), BitNames (Identity), Photon (Quantum Resistant).
Unlike BCH (the 2017 fork):
- There is no "Bitcoin" in the name. New name, new brand.
- You are getting advanced warning (4 months).
- We are replaying all txns (at first). We will release a coin-splitter tool.
- This is a permanent & sustainable fix to Bitcoin's problems (instead of a 1 MB to 8 MB temporary fix).
- Back in 2017, the BTC tech stack was strong, and expectations for Lightning were strong. Today, it is the reverse.

Hardfork forecast: Thursday, 2:30 PM EST !
Lately, BTC Blocks have arrived extra-fast, so the fork is happening sooner than expected.
Remember: Self-custody your BTC! If you keep it on an exchange, they may not give you your ECX.

Introducing LayerTree, a non-custodial scaling solution on bitcoin that connects to Lightning.
Using covenants, one UXTO can be shared by a million users. Any user can leave at any time in a single transaction. Users don't need to be online to receive. Funds never time out.
LayerTree is the next step in bringing bitcoin to billions.

Bitcoin hasn't shipped a meaningful upgrade since Taproot in 2021. So on October 31, Bitcoin's 18th birthday, it's being hard forked.
eCash ($ECX) is a Bitcoin hard fork that activates Drivechains (BIP300/301): opt-in sidechains for payments, privacy, prediction markets, and more. Same history, same addresses, same SHA-256 proof of work, plus the upgrade Bitcoin never merged. If a sidechain succeeds, miners earn new fee revenue. If it fails, the base layer is unaffected.
At the fork block (~973,728), every self-custodied BTC balance is credited ECX 1:1. No claim, no sign-up. Your BTC stays on Bitcoin, untouched.
After the fork, a normal transaction can be valid on both networks, so spending your BTC could also spend your ECX. Splitting separates the coins so each moves on its own.
Holding BTC in self-custody? Here's how to split, wallet by wallet: ecash.com/split

Bitcoin ***used*** to have much stronger arguments, such as:
- One day BTC will do everything, so there's no need for a second coin
- BTC has 99% of the marketcap of all other coins -- those Altcoins are just scams (to get more BTC)
- Those Altcoins claim to have more features, but actually they are vaporware / are broken features you wouldn't want anyway
Now, we have only bad arguments against Altcoins

Most people don't realize how bad the Lightning Network is,
Because there has been a vast, years long conspiracy to ***lie*** about the LN user experience.
It includes, but is not limited to, the entire world of "custodial lightning" -- ie, a vast campaign of fraud on par with Elizabeth Holmes' Theranos. Custodial lightning comprises >80% of all lightning payments.
Meanwhile, Ethereum / Tron / Solana / Base / whatever, are turning over **tens of trillions of dollars** per month in stablecoin volume. Millions of payments per day.
In Bitcoin we have a choice:
1. Continue to lie to ourselves about Lightning (and ARK and covenants, etc), hastening our demise
2. Come clean on LN -- reject it, and reject all the influencers and media personalities who went along with it.
But I already know we are choosing option #1. What a foolish mistake!
