This morning, in watching Senator Van Hollen board a plane to El Salvador, I can’t help but think of Representative Leo Ryan’s fateful trip to Guyana in 1978.
Ryan traveled to investigate claims that people were being held against their will in Jonestown—and he lost his life doing it.
This kind of work is real. It’s dangerous.
Senator Van Hollen is willing to take a personal risk to stand up for the rule of law.

Before I say anything, I’d like to thank @KamalaHarris, her team, and her family for including me in this campaign. No one can deny that we worked so hard for this, and though it unfortunately didn’t go how we wanted and expected it to, this campaign positively changed the lives of so many.
