Multiplex ecological network visualization with R package `multiweb` github.com/lsaravia/multiweb
3) summarized observed food web changes and hypothesize on stressor impacts

ALT Conceptual diagram: from species’ stressors to food web effects. A stressor (e.g., global warming) will affect one of the following species’ characteristics: metabolism, population biomass, distribution, and diet. Next, we considered node- and network-level properties relevant to the hypothesized stressor effects on the food webs.
We:
1) described the structure of marine food webs along the latitudinal axis using a network approach
We summarized potential stressor responses in marine food webs from the Southwest Atlantic to the Antarctic (45–78ºS): San Jorge Gulf, Beagle Channel, Burdwood Bank, Scotia Sea, & Potter Cove and the Weddell Sea in Antarctica

Res 2/2
We studied the #complexity #stability relationship of the #foodweb & found: (1) high sensitivity to small perturbations, suggesting that Potter Cove would be locally unstable; (2) high persistence to long-range perturbations, suggesting global #stability of the #ecosystem
Res 1/2
We found different responses for #connectance & #modularity depending on the extinction criteria used, e.g., large increase in #modularity and rapid decrease in #stability when the most connected & relatively high-trophic level species were removed
M&M 1/2
We performed in silico #extinctions on the #foodweb of Potter Cove marine #ecosystem #Antarctica This ecosystem is a #biodiversity hotspot, where #GlobalWarming is impacting the benthic & pelagic communities
