🫀 #ECPR is effective! Look at ARREST trial data: which other intervention was able to demonstrate a 45% ⬇️ in mortality??
⏱️ To furtherly improve outcome, increasing survival try to decrease time required to go on pump, reducing the time required for cannulation, directly related to survival. Have physicians able to cannulate; emergency physicians always available in ER: train them to initiate #ECMO!
PS resuscitative #ECLS is not only Vfib! Also consider other indications as PE, toxins...

Lots to think about. Is ECPR right for your ED?

How many lives did you save as result of your interventions? What is the chance of survival for pts with refractory CA after 15'/16'? Apporaching 0. If you get 20% survival rate with your #ECPR program, this is an impressive increase in chance of survival @ZackShinar #ParisRescue

How much training needed to perform #ECPR?
Is program able to provide high quality #ECLS? Is stable/sustainable? Will hospitals/EMS managers be able to interpret available evidence (eg poor methodology trials)
What is ECPR program of future looks like?
