This is a question, not a political statement. Does anyone have any guess on how it will play out when these large law firms make good on their commitments to Trump and collectively provide hundreds of millions of dollars in pro bono services? 🧵

Another great wildfire jury win and a reminder that not all plaintiff firms are the same. We’re at the front end of a new era -- the "return of the jury trial" in large-scale mass and class actions- which makes its much easier to see the difference in results across firms. Our view is a simple one: firms that actually take cases to trial—and win—consistently deliver outsized results for their clients, instead of settling on the cheap. That contrast will be even sharper in the #EatonFires litigation, where wildfire victims have so many firms to choose from.
🚨 BREAKING: Another jury delivers justice—$50 million awarded to 7 more survivors of the 2020 Labor Day fires, averaging over $7M per plaintiff.  This brings our total verdicts against PacifiCorp to $270 million for 44 plaintiffs. This is just the beginning: We’ve already won on liability. With 1,500+ damage trials expected to be completed by 2026, PacifiCorp will be held accountable, case by case. For the thousands of Eaton Fire survivors we and other firms represent, know this: juries are sending a clear message—utilities that put profits over safety will be held responsible. #WildfireJustice #PacifiCorp #TrialByTrial

Class action trials were once a myth—now, they’re changing everything. With over $1 billion in verdicts in recent years, we’re showing that corporations can’t just buy their way out with lowball settlements. The era of bad deals that serve only corporations and class counsel is ending. Huge credit to our team and our great co-counsel @tbslaw for helping lead this change. #ClassActions #Gambling #Reform
Historic win! We led the first-ever class action trial against a social casino—and won. A jury awarded $25M against High 5 Games, giving WA players back every dollar they lost, plus $7M in enhanced damages. We’ve now secured over $675M in settlements & verdicts. Next up: Big Tech’s role in illegal gambling—where tens of billions are at stake. The fight continues. #JusticeForPlayers #BigTechBookies Read more: law360.com/sports-and-bettin…

Breaking news: The Court granted, in large part, our TRO against SoCal Edison preventing them from destroying potentially critical evidence. We will be making statements in the next few hours. #EatonFire #CaliforniaWildfires
Last night, we filed for a TRO to stop SoCal Edison from potentially destroying key evidence in the Eaton wildfire. These are tactics we've seen before from utilities and their lawyers. Last round, we won a historic class action verdict in the Oregon Wildfires and $200M+ for our clients in individual damage trials so far. These cases can be won or lost in the first 30 days. We're ready for the fight.

Really excited to have another exceptional trial lawyer join the firm. As we've been saying, we're entering a new era in high-stakes litigation with the return of trials for class actions and mass actions. While mass torts have, of course, involved trial work, generally it is bellwether trials that lead to quick settlements. Given the change in jury views and the increased emphasis on delivering real results to clients, aggregate litigation is increasingly going the distance. Ali is a huge addition to our trial team which is preparing for 14 large trials in the next year. @edelsonpc reuters.com/legal/legalindus…

Our class action is on file. We are representing Columbia University students who have been displaced from campus because the school could not guarantee their safety. We support peaceful protests but when a sliver of them invites and engages in violence including saying all "Zionist's" (read "Jews") should be killed and calls for terrorists attacks on American soil, that has no place in our country. It also detracts from important debates our nation should be having. Columbia has long boasted a strong DEI program that prevents the targeting of vulnerable groups. Our suit alleges it needs to enforce its policies and let students feel free to study, take finals and otherwise be students without worrying they will be assaulted. We are proceeding on a breach of contract theory and are seek in immediate injunctive relief.

NEW: Edelson PC, a major law firm, will no longer participate in on-campus interviews at Harvard Law School due to Claudine Gay’s Congressional testimony. “Dr. Gay was in a position to help lead the country. She did the very opposite,” writes founder and CEO Jay Edelson:

Who's going to win the AI arm's race in high-stakes legal work? I'm betting on well-resourced plaintiff's firms with competition coming from boutique defense firms. BigLaw loses $ by being efficient. at.law.com/j8gVzX?cmp=share_… via @TheNLJ

Portland Labor Day Fire jury verdict just came down. Pretty close to a clean sweep. Jury found each member of class has established liability and assessed about $80m for just our 17 named plaintiffs. It found that the defendant acted willfully. Next step is punitive damages.

We now have the most consequential decision on #classaction settlements in over a decade. The attorneys negotiated a "$20m" class settlement and sought $6m in fees. But there's a kicker that the public isn't on to yet: law.justia.com/cases/federal…
