The compute market has been a wild ride in 2026.
Prices have skyrocketed, minimum contract durations have tripled, and near term capacity is few and far between.
At the same time, agents are becoming a primary user of compute themselves, and not just GPU compute.
It’s clear that the existing rental models and platforms across the industry no longer fit the reality we see today.
That’s why this week we’re announcing six new features for the Shadeform platform 👇️
We’ll be covering each of these in more detail over the next few days.

Apple? The open source lab?
Alert: Apple just dropped a new model on Hugging Face.
It's a Qwen3.5-9B finetune that turns long documents into small page images to save tokens, then pulls up the full text of only the pages relevant to your question 💡

GPU pricing is increasing across the board, but not evenly.
For example, providers in our network have raised their H100 rates by an average of 31.6% in 2026.
But the range of that average is wide; individual rates have increased as much as 47.5% and as little as 13.6%.
Movement in GPU pricing as a whole only tells part of the story.
There is still significant price variance between operators, even those with near identical architectures.
I'm a skeptic of GPU indices and compute futures. We haven't seen digital infra trade like a commodity yet, and I'd hate to see these go the way of bandwidth futures in the 90s.
The indices are meaningfully off of actual clearing prices because hyperscaler and lab purchases are highly confidential deal terms.
Fungibility is great in theory not in practice. Any hedge fund / scale user knows the value of a cluster has too many dimensions to reach fungibility from cluster to cluster: specific fiber paths, shell, geo, BOM, the 10 different operators in the supply chain, and a thousand+ more variables.
If it works, we'll surely use it but until then we're building something else
I’m glad we live in a world where an op is obvious to everyone.
A few years ago, this was not the case at all.
Good on @DavidSacks @beffjezos @travisk to speak out..

My conspiracy theory is that if you believe things are going to work out somehow the matrix makes sure they do.
3 years ago, @paulg told me not to build a startup.
I had just started YC, had my son 2 weeks prior, and was trying to make it work in every way I could.
Just 9 months after an unexpected pregnancy, 1 year after quitting my job.
I asked him “What are your thoughts on building a family and a startup at the same time?”
his candid response “Don’t do it”
Well 3 years later it’s crazy to think that last month we surpassed our 2025 revenue, and this week we essentially doubled it.
I saw my dad experience the boom bust on the dot com infrastructure build out at an early stage startup, tens of millions raised, little to show for it. Just stress and illness.
I made a decision not to make the same mistake. We’re on pace to do a 100M this year, with only 2M raised, and 12 incredible teammates.
Personally I’m here to secure my family’s future and ensure infrastructure and intelligence are not concentrated to a select few, paving a way for a future for my son and upcoming daughter that looks more like heaven than hell.
Generally, I shy from these posts, but we need our story told and credit where it is due, and we’ve been boosted by incredible people and partners like my wife, @Cholical , our team, @nvidia , @nebiusai , @digitalocean, and more - and this market needs to know why we’re here and who we’re building for.
We spent the past 3 years helping our partners find, deploy, and orchestrate compute across 30+ clouds.
With the unprecedented demand on the market right now and the largest shortage of compute and power we’ve seen to date, we’re excited to launch Shadeform Capacity Solutions (SCS).
SCS starts with Shadeform delivering a full market wide assessment of available inventory and buildouts coming online in 2026 and 2027. If there is availability for your deployment, great - we work hard to deliver a reliable, scalable cluster on time and ready for your workload.
If there isn’t a planned deployment that matches, we build.
We work with our real estate, datacenter, OEM, and cloud partners to deliver a full packaged solution with compute installed and ready to go for your custom needs, so you can predictably scale.
We're not going vertically integrated. The way to think about it is that we're the developer and PM - we put together the assets, then deliver them to our cloud partners to extend their portfolio and manage and operate a new cluster for you. In a real estate model, our partners are the owner and property manager; we're the developer; our customers are the tenant.
We’re working with everyone from Hyperscalers, Fortune 500s, leading inference startups and labs, Neoclouds, and even NVIDIA themselves to deliver scaled capacity across the market.
We look forward to delivering more dedicated solutions for you and unblocking your team. If you’ve been hitting this wall, book a call with our team and we’ll help you derisk your compute rollout and minimize your TCO. Get started in the link in the comments.
