Vetoing AB 44 is a major missed opportunity to lower costs using distributed energy resources. @CAgovernor, please correct the course by signing AB 740 to unlock BILLIONS in energy savings from virtual power plants!

This is huge and has large potential positive benefits for energy costs and reliability in Utah. I will be strongly advocating for our state to engage in these conversations. Congrats to AEU and everyone involved in this effort!
United’s @edsonprz joined the signing of #AB825 today with @CAGovernor! This legislation paves the way for an independently governed energy market that will increase grid reliability, deploy more #CleanEnergy resources, & lower costs for consumers in #California & across the West!

AB 44, 740, & 1408 can tackle ratepayer costs using clean energy! Together, these bills will:
⚡ Maximize existing energy infrastructure
💡 Expand virtual power plants
💪 Create a more resilient & efficient grid
@CAgovernor let’s get these bills signed!
After 2 years of education, advocacy, & coalition-building, we were able to steer 2 impactful VPP & DER bills through the legislature.
We're just one signature away from making strides in affordability in CA using advanced energy technologies! @CAgovernor

ICYMI: SB 540 is now AB 825, #CALeg, let’s get this done and pass arguably one of the most significant energy bills of the year. Passing this bill will end up saving ratepayers $1 billion per year, improve reliability, and reduce emissions. @ilike_mike, @CASpeakerRivas
California can either keep paying for costly gas peaker plants, or fund Demand Side Grid Support (DSGS), America’s biggest virtual power plant. DSGS has provided clean backup power since 2022. Save DSGS! @ilike_mike @CAgovernor @CASpeakerRivas canarymedia.com/articles/vir…

CA is overpaying for energy by keeping gas peaker plants open. Demand Side Grid Support (DSGS) is the best alternative, delivering clean, affordable power—but it will run out of funds this year. Keep the lights on w/DSGS! @ilike_mike @CAgovernor @CASpeakerRivas
While SB 541 being gutted is a disappointing development, CA still has a chance to pioneer VPPs by passing AB 740 and AB 44, and by funding DSGS!
Three virtual power plant bills would push California utilities to rein in costs with rooftop solar, batteries, EVs and other customer-owned tech. But the most ambitious plans in one bill were gutted in a secretive process inaccessible even to its author: canarymedia.com/articles/vir…

#CALeg – let's work to pass a workable version of SB 540 that keeps electricity costs low, strengthens grid reliability, & paves the way toward a clean energy future. Reliable power & affordable bills can go hand-in-hand! 🤝

I'm calling on the Legislature to enable the expansion of regional energy markets to lower energy costs, reduce air pollution, and avoid power outages.
This is our best shot at making electric bills more affordable and securing a clean, reliable energy future.
Repealing advanced energy tax credits could raise commercial & industrial electricity prices in California by 12.8% in 2026.
