ENVIRONMENTAL NGO FRIENDS of the Earth Ireland has described as “insulting” a claim by the head of Ireland’s data centre lobby that local opposition to data centres is fuelled by “conspiracy theories”.
Digital Infrastructure Ireland (DII) boss Ronan Kelly claimed to The Journal that the sector was being harmed by “disinformation” originating in American politics, but that this opposition across the country would only harm the Irish economy in the long run.

There has been a “concerning” increase in the rate of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS), according to the National Paediatric Mortality Register.
SIDS, also known as cot death, is the leading cause of death in babies aged 29 days to one year.

Martin Nolan is a danger to women and children in this country. In this case he is more concerned about the culprit than he is the victim.
A Honduran man who sexually assaulted a teenage boy in a gym changing room has been given a suspended sentence and ordered to pay his victim €5k.
Judge Martin Nolan noted today that the defendant has lost his job and possibly his status in the country as a result of his offending.
