Another great episode. @natabasso and @joshogilvie4 are crushing it!
Can we assess more than participation in Phys Ed? What if all students left school understanding who they are as a "mover"? @joshogilvie4 joins Nat to make a strong case for why PHE teachers are so much more than recreational facilitators! 🎧Listen @ kite.link/EduCrush

So much fun! Fantastic conversation w @natabasso of @educrushpod about how #PHE is so much more than participation marks & gym strip. We talk about assessing through dialogue & listening as an act of #inclusion. #PE #bced #physed #ATAssessment Listen @ kite.link/EduCrush

Three ways to re-purpose #homework as a safe space to make mistakes: ✅ Call it a "check for understanding" instead. ✅ Give students the answer in advance. ✅ Don't mark it. @pgliljedahl #thinkingclassrooms

What does critical pedagogy mean to you? I’ve been thinking a lot lately about this powerful body of work. (Villaverde, 2008, p. 129 in Douglas and Nganga, p. 62)

I’ve been talking with teams about how to invite student decision-making into learning. This is about more than choosing assignments. This is about strategies, evidence, & environments. We want Ss to explore who they are as learners. What makes THEM tick? solutiontree.com/student-sel…

So. Excited. We have been working hard to rethink how professional learning might happen. We have also been rethinking leadership. Pretty powerful stuff! #EESummit23 #rethinkleadership #assessmentchange @spaces_edu @natabasso @TomSchimmer

1/2 Without intending to, teachers beat books to death. Refusing to let go until we’ve explained every allusion and unpacked every metaphor, we take six, eight, even ten weeks to teach a novel. Well before we’ve turned the last page all parties are bored to tears @CarolJago

Listened to @educrushpod Episode about Cross Curricular Conversations this morning. I love the idea of using colleagues as experts. Thinking about ways as Program Leader & Depart Head I can foster relationships between departments to help cross curricular discussions happen.

@educrushpod Natalie Vardabasso is the keynote speaker today. I was hooked on her podcast last summer after listening to a few episodes that really speak to who we are and what we strive to do at Bio-Med . Meanwhile, digital day magic at home for Hive 12 #ourBMSA #OAISS

If you’re only teaching math with tricks, key words, and mimicry, you are teaching something but it’s not math. #mtbos #elemmathchat students deserve better; know better, do better

Great episode!
Is the achievement gap a mythology? @ShaneSafir believes that while gaps around race and ability are real, "testing data has been weaponized to diminish students of color, students with diverse learning needs, and marginalized students.” 🎧Listen @ kite.link/EduCrush
