biology-teacher.org/ is getting close to being the "one stop shop" I hoped it would be for KS4 and 5 AQA bio resources! ☺️ Until I can get round to putting them on the site you can find the markschemes and powerpoints to go with the booklets here: bit.ly/2UF1ne0
I felt the urge to "work" today but instead of listing things I haven't done I decided to focus on what I have done I finally uploaded the new improved resources to what will be my way of sharing what I make this year - my own site! biology-teacher.org/ #SharingIsCaring

This is big, and v proud of this report. I think it offers something way beyond the Panorama Programme - very much from teachers perspectives. 15 minute read. 1 hour interview. xitter.cf/TTRadioOfficial/status…
🚨 NEW: Inside Athena – the story beyond Panorama Following the BBC Panorama investigation into Athena Learning Trust, Teachers Talk Radio has gone further speaking directly to four teachers who worked inside Athena schools. Two current staff. Two former staff. One former teacher tells us: “It quashed the behaviour but destroyed any love of learning.” Another says: “Something so full of potential became a monster.” But a current teacher strongly disputes the picture presented: “The Panorama documentary was not particularly a fair representation of CSIA.” And another current Athena teacher describes the programme as: “a hatchet job rather than an in depth exploration.” We examine the claims around reflection rooms, toilet restrictions, silent practice, SEND, staff surveillance, classroom drop-ins and teacher autonomy including where current and former staff actually agree. 🎥 PLUS: Watch our full hour-long interview with former Camborne teacher Robin Brindley Johnson, who says working under Athena felt like “indoctrination” and explains why he believes the trust became too authoritarian. Athena Learning Trust was given the opportunity to respond and its statement is published in full. 👇 Read the investigation and watch the full interview Read: ttradio.org/post/a-hatchet-j… Watch: youtube.com/watch?v=CcZz0pCz…

A popular science teaching group didn't have any admins & so was going to be paused or archived. I've taken on being admin of this group. I miss the EduTwitter of old - I hope this can be a space for some of that. It already has a good following. Link to the group below:

I've been busy (in lots of ways!) recently, but one of those things has been completely revamping my ESAT preparation. More universities are using it now so important to get right. In case it's useful, I have some ESAT prep booklets for physics here: sciencedoctor.school.blog/es…

My site is a day away from reaching *ONE MILLION* views - absolutely mad. I made it as an NQT, frustrated that teachers across the country were writing the same physics worksheets over and over again. Never imagined that it'd be this popular, though. Thanks for using it!
***FINISHED RESOURCES*** Done. Finito. -9 GCSE booklets -13 A level booklets -220 freely downloadable physics resources -80k site visits -110k resource downloads This is about as much of a one stop shop for secondary physics as I could imagine. sciencedoctor.school.blog 1/5

Are you not looking forward to going to work tomorrow? Maybe you'd benefit from a change? Below are 20 reasons why you should apply to work in my department. And here's a glimpse of what it's like to work at UCS & in the Science department: youtube.com/watch?v=KUzOBq8T…
***20 reasons why you should apply to work in my department as a physics teacher*** 1. I'm on a crusade to minimise unnecessary workload. 2. As part of that we have a curriculum that is *fully* resourced. 3. You'll teach a maximum of 70% of lessons.

Had a great time as always with the @edu_in_action team today! First time in this lovely venue for me too with amazing speakers for the students to learn loads from 🙌🏻
We have had an incredible day at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester for Biology in Action! 🧠 From medical innovations supporting brain injury recovery with James Piercy to the science of de-extinction with Helen Pilcher 🐺, every session was packed with insight. 🩺Charlotte Mykura looked at what nature can tell us about cancer prevention, 🪸 Tim Lamont shared novel techniques for coral reef restoration, and 🧬 Laurence Hurst explore the stranger side of evolution! A huge thank you to our fantastic speakers and engaged audience—what a day of discovery! See you next time! #BiologyInAction #ScienceEducation #ALevelBiology #Manchester @helenpilcher1, @thepiercy, @CharlotteMykura, @edwards_dr2, @primrose_Kitten
