Executive protection, from digital to physical - listen or watch! Executive protection is no longer just a physical security issue. Increasingly, risk begins online. In Episode 31 of @efani Features, Mark Kreitzman speaks with Joe LaSorsa about how modern protection combines physical security, digital privacy, protective intelligence, residential security, travel security, and surveillance detection. They discuss how publicly available data, mapping tools, social media, data brokers, and AI can reveal where an executive lives, works, and travels, often without any physical reconnaissance. The conversation also covers data suppression and obfuscation, secure travel devices, hidden cameras, GPS and Bluetooth trackers, and why effective protection should reduce risk without creating unnecessary operational friction. She bought 1 Bitcoin (bitcoin:native), at $500, and a SIM swap took it all. By the time she checked her Coinbase balance, it read zero. We sat down with Mark Kreitzman (GM at @efani) to break down how SIM swaps actually work, and why crypto holders are the highest-value targets in the game. 🧵 Full episode in comments. This clip is 50 seconds... It'll stay with you longer.

⚠️ Most people still think their phone number is just a way to receive calls and texts. In reality, it has become the master key to your digital life. Banks, crypto wallets, email providers, and even enterprise identity systems still rely on your mobile number for account recovery and authentication. That makes SIM swap attacks one of the highest-leverage, lowest-effort attacks available to criminals today. In this short video, Mark Kreitzman breaks down a simple but uncomfortable truth: If someone takes control of your phone number, they do not need to hack your devices. They can reset everything. That shift matters. Attackers are no longer targeting malware. They are targeting carriers, help desks, and identity recovery flows. This is exactly why we built @efani as a security-first mobile service, not a discount carrier with bolt-on features. The focus is straightforward: – Eliminate retail and automated port-out paths – Require layered human verification for any number change – Treat the phone number as a protected asset, not a convenience feature For executives, founders, journalists, and anyone holding digital assets, mobile security is now part of personal risk management. Convenience without security is no longer neutral, it is exposure. If you still assume your carrier has this covered by default, this is worth five minutes of your time. 👉 youtube.com/watch?v=YYl9Dh3w…

There is a lot of noise right now about “Silent SMS” or “Silent-0” attacks. In 2026, this is not a real threat for most users in the U.S. These attacks depended on 2G and 3G networks that have been shut down, along with carrier-level filtering and modern OS protections on iOS and Android. What Silent SMS could ever do was limited to rough cell-tower location checks. It never allowed phone takeover, SIM cloning, message access, or encryption bypass. Those claims are fear marketing. The real mobile threat has not changed. SIM swapping remains one of the most effective account-takeover attacks today. Control the phone number, and you control password resets, 2FA, email, and crypto accounts. We recorded a short video separating outdated myths from the risks that actually matter in 2026: 👉 youtu.be/MqMlctIIzIY At @efani, we focus on stopping SIM-swap attacks, operating on AT&T and Verizon infrastructure, with protections designed for high-risk users and a $5M protection policy. Security is not about chasing headlines. It is about understanding the threats that still work.

Most people are worried about the wrong mobile threat. I keep seeing posts, articles, and videos warning about “SIM cloning” as if it is the biggest risk to your phone, your bank accounts, or your crypto. It isn’t. SIM swapping is the real danger, and it has been for years. In this new video, we break down the difference clearly and technically: - SIM swapping is a social engineering attack. An attacker convinces a carrier to move your phone number to their device. Your phone goes dead. They receive your calls, texts, and SMS-based 2FA. - SIM cloning, as people imagine it today, is effectively a myth. Modern SIMs and eSIMs are cryptographically protected. Two identical SIMs cannot be active on modern 4G, LTE, or 5G networks at the same time. If your phone suddenly loses service, or you lose access to accounts, that is almost certainly a SIM swap, not a clone. This distinction matters, because defending against the wrong threat leads to false confidence. Buying hardware wallets, changing phones, or worrying about “someone listening in” does nothing if the carrier can still be socially engineered. At @efani, we built our service around this reality: ✅ Carrier-level protections against unauthorized SIM swaps ✅ Strict human verification, not automated scripts ✅ A $5 million protection policy backing our security claims We have not had a single successful SIM swap against an Efani customer in over six years. If you care about mobile security, identity protection, or crypto safety, this video will save you a lot of confusion. Watch here: 👉 youtube.com/watch?v=DyOzxu5r… Most mobile security advice is outdated. This explains what actually matters.

1 lawsuit just confirmed what privacy experts feared for years Google has been pulling user data from Android phones - even when they’re idle, even without consent. And now, a jury has slammed them with a $314 million fine. But here’s the real problem: this kind of background data collection isn’t just unethical. It’s dangerous. Because when that data gets exposed, leaked, or misused, it becomes a weapon. Especially in the hands of: - SIM swap attackers tracking SIM activity windows - Social engineers mapping daily behavior - Hackers analyzing device metadata to bypass 2FA Your phone, when idle, should be silent. Instead, it was quietly transmitting data - consuming your mobile plan and eroding your digital privacy. This is why privacy isn’t just a buzzword anymore. It’s a defense layer. A firewall between your mobile life and a potential catastrophe. And yet most people still rely on carriers and phones that put profit over protection. If your mobile carrier isn’t protecting you from this - who is? #privacybreach #mobilesecurity #simhacking #efani

One breach just endangered thousands of survivors The LexisNexis data leak exposed the personal details of over 364,000 people - including addresses, phone numbers, and social security numbers. That’s not just a cybersecurity issue. That’s a real-world threat to domestic violence survivors, stalking victims, and anyone who’s gone to great lengths to stay hidden. When a company like LexisNexis stores sensitive data without explicit consent, and then fails to protect it, it doesn’t just put people at risk of identity theft. It puts lives in danger. Abusers can now search leaked databases to locate survivors. Stalkers can use that phone number or address to reestablish contact. All because a data broker failed to secure a GitHub account. Think about that - your safety compromised by a system you never opted into. This is why mobile security matters. It’s why privacy is not just a tech concern - it’s a human one. Here’s what you can do today: ✅ Change your phone number if you think your data was exposed ✅ Use a mobile carrier with high-level protections against SIM swaps and port-out fraud ✅ Avoid putting your name or real number in public listings or third-party forms At @efani, we’ve worked with people in high-risk situations who rely on private, locked-down mobile accounts to stay safe. This breach proves why that’s more critical than ever. How do you protect someone whose entire existence depends on not being found? #dataprivacy #cybersecurity #domesticviolence #efani

🚨 What happens when someone connects your phone number to your Google account and your full name? They don’t need to hack you. They can just impersonate you. That’s exactly what a security researcher proved possible with one vulnerability in Google’s recovery page. By exploiting a loophole in a no-JavaScript version of the page, they were able to: ❌ Brute-force and confirm phone numbers tied to Google accounts ❌ Extract full account display names using a loophole in Looker Studio ❌ Send up to 40,000 requests per second using IP rotation and proxies All of this could happen invisibly. And once an attacker has your name and number, they can craft phishing emails, impersonate you on phone calls, or trick a support agent into handing over your number through a SIM swap. This is no longer a fringe issue. It’s the new normal. Most people still treat their phone number like a username. But it’s not. It’s a master key. If you’re using your standard mobile carrier for sensitive accounts, you’re playing defense with no helmet. This is why we built @efani - to harden the one layer most people ignore until it’s too late. If someone had your name and number, how long would it take before they owned your identity? #CyberSecurity #SIMSwapping #MobileSecurity #Phishing

🚨 1 Google bug. 1 brute-forcing trick. And millions of users silently exposed. A researcher discovered that Google’s password recovery form could be exploited to brute-force user phone numbers - because it didn’t use JavaScript, which meant no BotGuard protection. Using proxies and IP rotation, the researcher managed 40,000 requests per second. Let that sink in. At that rate, it would take just 4 minutes to crack a UK number. 20 minutes for a US one. Once attackers connect your number to your Google account, they can: - Launch targeted phishing attacks - Bypass basic account protections - Initiate SIM swapping attempts with scary precision All without needing to break your password. This is how digital identity theft starts. What makes it worse? Most people still use their main mobile number for recovery, banking, crypto, and 2FA. Your carrier becomes your weakest link. At @efani, we believe your phone number should be your strongest line of defense; not your biggest liability. How many minutes would it take to find your number? #CyberSecurity #SIMSwapping #Infosec

67 years old. $2 million gone. All because of one phone call. Ed Suman spent decades as a fabricator in the art world. After retirement, he invested his savings in crypto. 17.5 Bitcoin. 225 Ethereum. All stored on a hardware wallet for maximum security. But none of that mattered. One day, he received a text alert claiming to be from Coinbase. Then a phone call. The “support agent” knew everything - his name, account history, even that he used a Trezor wallet. That trust is what got him. He was told his funds were at risk and walked through a fake “security process.” It involved entering his seed phrase into what he believed was Coinbase’s official website. In reality, it was a perfectly crafted phishing page. Nine days later, another fake call. More trust. More reassurance. By the end of that second conversation, his entire retirement portfolio was gone. This came just days after Coinbase confirmed a major breach - where support staff were bribed and customer data was leaked. That breach affected around 1% of Coinbase’s monthly active users. It’s not just about the breach. It’s about the fallout. Because when attackers have your data, they don’t just try brute force. They play the long game. They use your trust against you. They impersonate the people you rely on. Crypto holders are often told: use a hardware wallet and you’ll be safe. But without secured mobile communication, anyone can still reach you and sound legitimate enough to bypass your defenses. The human mind is the new attack surface. Ask yourself - if someone called you tomorrow and knew everything about your setup, would you be prepared to hang up? #CyberSecurity #CryptoScam #SocialEngineering #Coinbase #Efani

Why I think often of my beloved @efani. If anyone wants to hear the horror stories in crypto from social engineering attacks and other scenarios, chat with @haseeb.
I am a long time investor in and champion of @coinbase. Something that has to be said though - this hack - which includes home addresses and account balances - will lead to people dying. It probably has already. The human cost, denominated in misery, is much larger than the $400m or so they think it will actually cost the company to reimburse people. The consequences to companies who do not adequately protect their customer information should include, without limitation, prison time for executives. Very disappointed in Coinbase right now. Using the cheapest option for customer service has its price. And Coinbase's customers will bear that cost.
