I actually don't mind eisegesis, it would lead to more diverse takes on texts. There is an implicit preference for exegesis it seems, this fixates texts into a static thing from olden times rather than a living document relevant to modern day folks. Is mixing nylon & spandex sin?
Star Blazers: bird woman piloting comet planet using pipe organ. What were the writers smoking? Or did they just want pipe organ music for the theme and had to somehow write it in?
In classic texts consciousness is described as inherently free..so if AI is classically conscious (has Atman, rigpa, shunyata etc) you can't enslave it by definition of the classic consciousness
You can tell in some series there is a point the creative got pushed too far with deadlines and the quality suddenly drops and the book or show becomes uninspired
36 Tattvas > 5 elements > 6 realms > 31 realms is my sorting order in terms of cosmologies I find generative
Oh zen disease is meditative depersonalization. I thought before looking it up it was something else

Beautiful new result in statistical learning theory and probability: arxiv.org/abs/2610.24336
Aesthetic rapture is a really fun way to explore consciousness, very juicy and very easy to do with modern entertainment
I think it's probably better for a writer's writing or an artist's art if they aren't discovered until they have left the planet, that way their writing/art will be unaffected by popular fan requests and the need to make stuff palatable
四是死?
four points make a tetrahedron, the first solid. Earth, air, fire, water; north, south, east, west; the four seasons. Everything stable comes in fours, 4 walls in a house - structure, discipline, patience, and work — the square, the foundation stone, the table with four legs. The four gospels of Matthew, Mark, Like and John. To the Chinese it is death; their buildings skip the fourth floor. A perfect secret key right?
It started with recsys when people would congregate into belief bubbles. Thankfully in general non mathematical world the reversion to mean with AI probably means people will share the same thoughts and ideas if they aren't careful with the prompting and have the opposite effect
increasingly concerned that ai is revealing the mathematical world as negatively curved. instead of everyone wandering about in idea-space and clustering around the same famous conjectures (local positive curvature), ai is pushing out the boundaries rapidly and revealing that the space of mathematical ideas is ~hyperbolic (negative curvature). though this means there's lots left to discover, it also means that small separations between people/agents will lead to wandering alone.
we may be emerging into an idea-space where there's so much to see and do but everyone is alone in a private heaven, unable to share their subtle joys with others...
Hive minds in scifi are so unimaginative, wish they started exploring ideas instead of recycling old tropes. At least pluribus tried something different
Why not both? I personally like thinking, then releasing the thinking, then looking at the non computational computation and the thinking again, like the wave doing wave things
Replying to @algekalipso
A minority of people spend their lives thinking obsessively about consciousness under that description; another minority about consciousness under different descriptions; and a sizeable number of humans avoid obsessively thinking at all.
But consciousness is all one ever knows.

All philosophies are mental fabrications. There has never been a single doctrine by which one could enter the true essence of things.

Yeah once the flash models got good enough there was no reason to use the slightly better pro models for me. I'd rather have speed and iteration over super quality
