New research alert! Our study investigates the effectiveness of human-only, AI-assisted, and AI-led teams in assessing the reproducibility of quantitative social science research. We've got some surprising findings!

Sure matplotlib is cool, but what if I want to load my loss curves into the 2006 hit Flash game LineRider?

T2.1 Caregiver inhibitory control and infant visual #workingmemory by Christina Davidson. The #fNIRS study of caregiver's #cognitive processing & infantile #executivefunction essential for #learning showed differing IIPL activation in infants depending on caregiver's efficiency.
So happy to have published my first paper! Three years of work has paid off 🎉🎉🎉
Thank you to @schluppeck and Susan Francis for all their support throughout @notts_psych

This comes with great regret, and a huge amount of thought and discussion- please read announcement to get more details.

Dead chuffed to have my first lead-author paper published!🐣 @notts_psych
Web-based measurements of visual function can be highly reliable, showing strong agreement with lab-based measurements.
Smooth data collection thanks to @psychopy & Pavlovia.

Today I raised concerns on behalf of postgraduate students who face having to complete their research without any extra funding from UKRI. The response showed no understanding of the problem but I’ll try to secure a debate to raise again. #PGR students deserve better
Who knew that one of the greatest struggles during my PhD, would be forcing MATLAB and MacOS to play nicely.
Python wouldn't betray me like this.

🚨Today we are releasing our comprehensive report on pandemic support for PGRs🚨
Falling Short is an authoritative account of the precarious position of PGRs within the HE sector and the failings of @UKRI_News and HEIs’ COVID-19 support policies.

Waiting for @UKRI_News and UK HEIs to give PGRs blanket funded extensions like
Lockdown 23: For 500 days total, PhD students have unable to access facilities, libraries & archives, and unable to conduct lab work, field work & face to face testing of participants.
UKRI: Time lost is not a valid reason for an extension.

PGRs need this lockdown too. Most research is not essential! My molecular handcuffs can wait! It’s not safe.
We need funded extensions guaranteed now. Exhausted. Depressed. Mental health shredded. And to be forgotten among new guidance once again is so painful.

Today has seen the announcement of further school closures, and the new strain makes it likely that this will soon become yet more widespread. @UKRI_News PhD bursary policy is now absolutely untenable . Hundreds, maybe thousands, of parents doing PhDs will be desperately 1/6
