Yesterday, we welcomed another U.S. Department of State International Visitor Leadership Program delegation to our facilities in Ely. This group brought together business leaders, government officials, and researchers from the Near East and North Africa to the U.S. to learn about modern mining. We enjoyed meeting the delegation and giving them a look at Minnesota’s critical minerals potential, our deposit’s unique geology, and how we’re looking after the place we call home during exploration and beyond. Thanks again to the @StateDept and program host @GlobalMinnesota for inviting us to share our story!

Designing an underground mine that’s safe for the people working below and the landscape above starts with a camera. A remote acoustic televiewer, to be more precise. Able to work in complete darkness, it uses sound waves to take 360° “photos” of the borehole walls that help our geology and engineering teams better understand core samples and predict areas of potentially unstable ground. It’s just one of the ways we’re engineering safety into our project from the ground up.

With helium in short supply, 60 Minutes learned that bringing new sources to market can take years. “It's not easy to find. It's not easy to build. The logistics are hard, right? You've got to keep something that's 452 degrees below zero cold. And it's perishable,” says Cliff Cain, president of Pulsar Helium Inc. cbsn.ws/4ypM5X5
