This was introduced for the below scenario where the club lifts FA offer to trigger higher compo & then pays another player. But Port scenario doesn't need the Butters offer upped to trigger band 1. They could pay full Marshall deal & the offset would still trigger band 1 compo.

Marcus Bontempelli is a little watch for this week after undergoing scans on Saturday amid concerns over that knee. Those scans revealed no damage, albeit there's some soreness there on a six-day break. The Dogs are optimistic he plays the Swans. Libba is in the protocols but at this stage there's no suggestion he re-fronts the concussion panel. Has had at least six concussions though, so there's some real conservatism there.
