the point of being a hater is having taste. For everything you hate on you must have something you just as enthusiastically recommend. Otherwise you’re a cancer upon society

We are slowly removing coincidence out of our lives. We don't pick a restaurant before even checking the ratings. We don't hear music before the algorithm ever predicts we'll like it. We don't even take a route before maps removes the wrong turn. Barely meet someone even before checking their profile. And none of that is necessarily bad. But that's what makes it interesting because every tool nowadays removes every tiny bit of uncertainty, but uncertainty is where a lot of your favorite memories came from. The place you found by accident, the friend you met because the plans changed. The street you weren't supposed to be on that ended up having the best restaurant you've ever been to. We've optimized our life so well to the point where nothing unexpected ever has room to even happen and a life with no accidents is easier to manage, but it's just harder to remember.
an unpopular opinion that would put you in this situation.

Growing up, a hit song crossed demographics whether the genre was your favorite or not. People who don’t primarily listen to country still know Dolly, Shania, Carrie, The Chicks, etc. because they made actual hit records that crossed over. If a song can spend 23 weeks at #1, breaking records that stood for 20+ years, while a huge portion of the public is sincerely saying they’ve never heard it, maybe the conversation isn’t “people hate country.” Maybe @RollingStone should be writing about how streaming-era chart dominance no longer equals cultural dominance because there’s some trickery at play. That’s the real story being avoided. Don’t gaslight us.
What Some Folks Really Mean When They Claim to Have Never Heard ‘Choosin’ Texas’ Proclaiming you're unfamiliar with Ella Langley's record-setting song has a lot in common with saying "I listen to anything but country." rollingstone.com/music/music…

What exactly is supposed to pay the bills if it can’t be about the money? Experience and hustle don’t pay for rent or groceries. The current system takes advantage of people who love the game, and it’s why we see so many nepo babies in sports.
My first job in sports paid me about $3,500 a month and my rent in Brooklyn was half of that. If you want to work in sports, it can’t be about the money. You have to do it because you genuinely love it and if you love it enough, are obsessed with it and are willing to put in the work, hopefully the money will come

I am BEGGING people to stop acting like their low TV/sports salaries are a badge of honor. It’s exploitation by the employer. Yes you have to grind and sacrifice in this industry but a full time working person should not have to live below the poverty line to get their start
Sports & media people - How much $$$ did you make your 1st job in the industry? Let's get some salary transparency going. tiktok.com/@stormbuonantony?…

The new Spider-Man movie proved to me once again that forced isolation might make you super productive in the short term, but you pay a very heavy price for it. Ultimately, you destroy your own potential. Even Peter Parker, despite having superpowers as Spider-Man, a clear sense of purpose, and being loved by all of New York City, struggles with being completely on his own. He develops real mental health issues and is driven by his trauma. He feels lost, and the exact same thing happens to so many people without anyone talking about it. No matter how talented and successful you are in life: if you stay isolated for long enough, the silence will eventually drive you crazy and tear you down. The dangerous part is that you can't really predict when it starts getting bad. For some, it's a week; for others, a month or a year... The point is, no matter what you're going through, you don't have to face it alone. Be spontaneous, follow your gut. Stop overanalyzing every little thing and measuring everything by productivity, efficiency, or profit and loss. The world isn't black and white, and it certainly isn't made of numbers. It is so much more than that. So get out there and face your fears. Get out there and have fun. Be like Spider-Man. And btw, the movie was great. I highly recommend it
I think my favorite scene in the movie was when Peter innocently told MJ that it was the most fun time he'd had years later after only a few minutes of chatting with Ned while building Lego together. I think it was a small and sweet truth about living an isolated and introverted life. Even if it was only a tiny moment it personally touched me the most and my heart melted in the cinema

After a certain age, you are no longer the product of your environment or how you were raised. It's a personal choice to live the way you do.

« best Spider-Man movie since Raimi’s SPIDER-MAN 2 »
SPIDER-MAN: BRAND NEW DAY is a much more cerebral followup than the crowd pleasing No Way Home. It’s Tom Holland’s best performance as Peter Parker and the best Spider-Man movie since Raimi’s SPIDER-MAN 2. Also the costume finally looks incredible #spidermanbrandnewday
