Update regarding community safety on VGen
UNETHICAL BROKERS:
Happy to say we’ve identified many previously unconfirmed JRUhub brokers, affiliates, and other unethical group accounts and they have all been banned for misrepresenting the nature of their profiles and services, intentionally inviting bad actors, and ban evading.
Big thank you to everyone in our community who has helped to investigate, report on-site, and provide detailed proof that our team were then able to review and take action on. Thank you for helping us keep the community safe!
REMAINING BROKERS:
In the short term, broker discovery has been rebalanced, their withheld funds processed through VGen Payments may not be released until after a commission is complete, and all brokers will continue to not have any invite codes. If any broker accounts mistype themselves as an individual or studio, they will now be suspended for at least 1 month immediately upon discovery.
We are still evaluating whether additional long-term actions are required.
Please do not assume all brokers are bad. However, if you do see suspicious behaviour, please continue to report them on-site and we will investigate.
ARTIST INVITE CODES:
There is now a hard limit of 2 unused artist invite codes per Verified Artist at any given time. If you earn more through a challenge or special event drop and you already have 2 in your dashboard, you won’t receive any more.
ARTIST CODE GIVEAWAYS:
Effective Nov 1, 2026, general contests, raffles, or applications are no longer allowed, even if recipients are screened. This is due to the increasing sophistication of groups who fraudulently misrepresent themselves as individuals.
If you see someone hosting a raffle or are in violation of our Artist Code Policy in any way, please report them on-site with a screenshot or link to their violating post and we’ll investigate. Their first offence will result in a warning before more severe administrative actions may be taken for repeated offences, including losing verification status and suspensions.

Okay imagine your guy friend revealing after years that hes actually gay and in love with you. Does that change the dynamic of your friendship? Do you feel like the camaraderie was based on a lie and this sexual attraction changes the friendship? Does it make it weird? Do you normally hang out with guys who want to fuck you? Does every future interaction with him change from ‘bro’ coded to ‘suitor’ coded?
I think the betrayal and disgust reaction isnt really conveyed by if you think of your girl friend revealing this secret crush, its more similar to the reaction youd feel if your guy friend revealed it after years of never mentioning it and now youre reviewing your entire friendship together under the lens that he was only there to get in your butt.
Also, as a girl, there’s a difference between guy friend who would probably not turn you down if you made a move and guy friend who is only orbiting you bc he secretly longs for more.

欧州人は、もうちょっとマンガについての理解を深めるべきだと思う。
マンガというのは、写実性を優先しない。
写実的に見える作風でも、それこそ「ちいかわ」くらい簡略化された作風でもそうなんだけど、描かれるものは「絵の形をした文字、記号」だと思ったほうがいい。
日本の多くのマンガで、髪の色、目の色などが現実に即していないものが描かれるのは、あれは「描き分けの労力を減らしている｣のと「キャラクターの特性を表現している｣というだけ。
例えば、写実的に描くなら、日本人の髪は黒（ブルネット）で、目の色も大抵は黒かやや茶色。
だから、「写実的な作品」ではそのように描かれるけど、それだと画面が暗くなりすぎるし、特定のキャラクターを特徴付けにくくなり、見分けるために読者が余計な労力を強いられることになる。
なので、
「勝ち気な性格なら髪の毛は赤｣
「クールな性格なら髪の毛は青｣
「元気な性格なら髪の毛は黄色｣
「不良、ヤンキーなら髪の毛は金髪（ブリーチして脱色している）｣
ってなるんだけど、これはぶっちゃけ、
「描き分けが楽になるから｣（作画コストが小さくなる）
「読者の識別労力が楽になるから｣
というくらいの意味しかない。
マンガは写実ではなく、「記号｣であって「絵の形をした文字」だと思ったほうがいい、というのはそういうこと。
君らは「写実的でなければならない｣と思い込みがちだけど、もし写実を目指すなら「写真でいい｣「リアルな生成AIでいい｣ってなる。行き着く所は「デフォルメの存在しない、似たり寄ったりの作風｣になる。
浮世絵の昔、鳥獣戯画の昔、北斎漫画の昔からそうなんだけど、日本における漫画は「デフォルメ｣と「省略｣が重視される。
描くのが楽だから、というのもそうだけど、読者に想像の余地を投げて、脳内で補完させるから、絵のほうはそこまで緻密でなくてもいい。（緻密な作家はもちろんいるが、全員がそうである必要はない。「ちいかわ｣の作画に村田雄介の書き込みは求められてない）
あと、「目の色も日本人っぽくない｣のも同じ理由で、「差し色だから髪と揃えたほうが見映えがいいかな｣くらいの意味しかないよ。アレ。

The ugly-ass onigiri I made, made beautiful by the pretty wrappers.
The top four are all the same, just with the different furikake seasonings you see in the other picture. They're made with tinned mackerel and a little bit of mayonnaise, salt, and pepper.
The rice was cooked with a chicken bullion cube and then lightly mixed with a little seasoned rice vinegar (not too much).
The bottom two were to show on camera, but it is just rice mixed with salted kombu.
The mackerel ones are 200 calories each. The kombu ones are about 140 calories each.
