Every time I think i have an original thought I find out Chesterton or Junger said it 100 years ago.

Every man of an aristocratic disposition tastes two deaths, one when society calls him gay, and the second when they kill him for his erudite ways.

The grandeur of verses like this only becomes fully apparent when we experience the night sky as our ancestors did for millennia, with the naked eye and no pollution. Below is the sky upon which our ancestors gazed, and which we still can in the right conditions. (Press the pics)

If the U.S. maintained even a shadow of its 20th-cent strategic and intelligence capabilities they would have bombed Iranian power and oil infra within a week of Khamenei’s death. 9 months of attacks has given Tehran time to mobilize allies and accelerate weapons production.

If you want to see the milky way here is a resource for the best times of year to go for your region. drive.proton.me/urls/XVAPA0R…
It’s good to have a set of binoculars but it’s not needed. I have a Cometron 7x50. Take long exposure photos if you want to see some color. You can also record a timelapse of the stars moving across the night sky with a tripod. Keep an eye out for meteors as well.

Khamenei’s vulnerability (while somewhat expected due to prior failures) was a glaring sign that the Iranians did not expect an immediate attack, and therefore would have been more vulnerable in initial conflicts. However, I don’t think it would have made a monumental difference.
In 10 years time when the white collar market collapses, and people that have built their entire identity around their career are in crisis, I will be laying in my hammock, strawberry boba in one hand, and a book of Evola’s in the other.
I maintain that my unsolicited photograph is significantly less weird than 90% of students in a phone induced catatonic state at 9am
