It's kind of amazing that major progressive politicians like Bernie Sanders and Abdul El-Sayed actually understand the enormous, existential threat that AI poses, while major progressive intellectuals like Chomsky and Doctorow are in complete AI-denial. Glad it's not the other way around.

So, basically, 8 billion people are worried that AI will take their jobs while 500 million people use AI to write emails that 500 million other people use AI to summarize, just so 100 million managers can ask AI to generate reports that nobody reads, while 10 billion AI agents prepare to replace the humans who were already pretending to work.
