Paul’s threat is different in kind from anything the Baron would have done, the Atreides atomics were the standard Great Convention deterrent every House kept as a last-resort shield against planetary invasion; the Baron would have used them exactly that way, to protect Giedi Prime while he extracted and monopolized the spice, never to destroy the source of his wealth Paul instead threatens to detonate the atomics against the sandworm life cycle and pre-spice mass itself, holding the entire Imperium’s economy and interstellar travel hostage until the Emperor and Great Houses accept his claim. The Baron sought control inside the existing system; Paul was willing to end the system’s most critical resource if it was the only way to seize the throne.
The Atreides had one weapon the whole galaxy feared: the atomics. Is Paul's threat to destroy the spice any different from what the Baron would have done?

in this house, we all love Maysilee Donner even Suzanne called her one of the angriest characters she's ever written. her mean is just a glimpse of how much rage she has towards the Capitol injustice. once she got reaped and faced the Capitol, she didn't hesitate to mock them
i wack sotr a lot and will continue to but one thing suzanne collins does really well is taking The Mean Girl trope and instead of making her hyperfeminine to the point of clear contempt for bullying cheerleaders like a lot of writers would have the urge to, she makes them TOUGH

WAN: Would probably be disappointed in SALAI for whatever decisions eventually shaped the world into the era of the Avatar cycle. But the bigger question is whether Wan could have anticipated how dependent humanity would become on the Avatar to maintain balance. SALAI: Would probably question GUN for how the world continued to develop after his era. The challenge of maintaining balance didn’t disappear simply because one Avatar had already established the role. GUN: Would have to confront the consequences of his decisions through YANGCHEN, particularly if the world became more politically complicated than he ever anticipated. YANGCHEN: Might be disappointed in KURUK for allowing so many spiritual problems to develop beneath the surface while he dealt with the consequences in his own way. KURUK: Would have plenty to question about KYOSHI. His generation struggled with spiritual instability, while hers became defined by political corruption, powerful criminal organisations and the need for a much more forceful Avatar. KYOSHI: Might question ROKU’s hesitation to confront SOZIN. She understood that sometimes preventing a catastrophe requires taking action before it becomes unavoidable. Watching Roku allow his friendship to influence his judgment would probably be particularly frustrating. ROKU: Would have the hardest time watching AANG. His failure to stop Sozin ultimately became a hundred-year war that Aang had to end. He would be watching his successor carry the burden of a mistake he personally could have prevented. AANG: Would probably struggle with KORRA’s decision to leave the spirit portals open. It fundamentally changed the relationship between humans and spirits, something Aang spent much of his life trying to understand and protect. But would he actually consider it a mistake, or simply a future he never imagined? KORRA: Would have the most interesting reaction to the next Avatar. After losing her connection to the previous Avatars, restoring the Air Nation, leaving the portals open and changing the world’s spiritual balance, she would have to watch someone inherit a world that looks completely different from the one she started with. And that’s where the cycle becomes particularly interesting. Imagine spending your entire life trying to fix the mistakes of the previous Avatar, only to realise that some of your own decisions will become the biggest problems your successor has to solve. The Avatar isn’t just responsible for the world they inherit. They’re also responsible for the world they’re leaving behind.
If every Avatar could watch the decisions made by their successors, which one would be the most disappointed?

This woman carried the MCU post-Endgame, spearheaded three sequels marketed as its best trilogy, delivered a near-billion-dollar film, and was praised by Robert Downey Jr. (the MCU's previous face) as its connective tissue after his departure. Don't play in her FACE, istg.
The next big faces of the MCU.

still one of THEE most beautiful pieces of fantasy armor i’ve ever seen. feminine without being impractical. regal without being merely ornamental. she looks like an elven warrior princess straight out of a thousand year old legend. we used to be a proper country
opportunity for me to bring up my favorite female fantasy armor that’s feminine without the usual over-accentuated proportions, still regal as hell and incredibly cunty in a high fantasy way

So basically, Duke Leto did not let Yueh’s betrayal happen; he failed to anticipate it because the entire Imperium treated Suk conditioning as an absolute that could not be broken. The diamond tattoo and the Imperial conditioning were designed to make a Suk doctor the one person a Great House could trust without reservation, incapable of harming a patient, so both Leto and Thufir Hawat rationally excluded Yueh from the short list of possible traitors. What the Harkonnens discovered, and what no one outside their circle knew, was that the conditioning could be overridden by an even stronger, more personal imperative: the torture and fate of Yueh’s wife. Once that lever existed, Yueh became both the instrument of the attack and the agent who quietly ensured Paul and Jessica’s escape. The tragedy is not that Leto was careless or complicit, but that he placed his faith in a system of control the Harkonnens proved could still be subverted by human attachment, the one variable the conditioning had never been built to withstand.
Was Duke Leto's "betrayal" by Yueh really unforeseeable, or did Leto let it happen?

Read the novels and you’ll see the Avatar cycle is just a 10,000-year chain of cleaning up your past self's mess 😭 Yangchen made illegal deals favoring humans, so Kuruk had to fight corrupted dark spirits until his soul rotted at 33. Kuruk neglected mortal politics, so Kyoshi had to deal with Chin the Conqueror and made the Dai Li.....which ended up ruining Ba Sing Se for Aang. It’s an endless generational debt...
Has the Avatar ever truly brought lasting peace to the world, or does every generation simply inherit the consequences of the previous Avatar's failures?

One of my favorite scenes from Dune. “You inherit too much power” “What, because I’m a duke’s son?” “Because you are Jessica’s son.”
