Every engineer who opens SOLIDWORKS 2027 will see a Standard Bots robot on the loading screen. 🦾 One of our engineers said seeing their work on the loading screen was their dream. Dreams do come true. Check us out in their What's New for 2027 video (filmed at our factory) live.solidworks.com/demand/w…

“Over the last 9 years of building Ro, we’ve tried to break down the stigma of seeking out healthcare” Let’s go Z! I remember when you first started Ro and the mission was the same. I’m glad to see Megan get behind you to amplify this.

At the America.gov launch today. A beautifully designed event, and a government website that actually works like a product. Every manufacturer I know loses hours to federal paperwork. Making that easier is real industrial policy. Nice work @jgebbia and the @ndstudio team!

Honored to host @RepTomSuozzi and the head of U.S. Chamber of Commerce at Standard Bots for this award. One of the most inspiring moments I saw this year politically was @JohnFetterman and @SenMcCormickPA sharing the stage at the PA Defense Summit, working across the aisle to get things done. Congressman Suozzi brings that same mindset, and he's driving real innovation in his district.
When government, businesses, and labor work together, we create jobs that let Americans afford a good life and achieve the American Dream. Honored to receive the @USChamber of Commerce's "Advocate for American Business" award at @StandardBots in Glen Cove!

"American companies need a fair playing field.” @evanbeard told @CNBC why the @FCC's ban on new Chinese robots—humanoids, quadrupeds, autonomous mobile robots—is a pivotal moment for U.S. robotics. The action is a forcing function for American manufacturers to build out our domestic robotics supply chain so U.S. industry is more competitive globally. We're ready. We already design nearly every major component ourselves, including our own actuators, and assemble every robot in-house. By 2027, we'll be metal in, robots out, manufacturing everything in America. Today, the FCC banned the import and sale of new foreign-made advanced robots — humanoids, quadrupeds, and autonomous mobile robots — along with foreign-made connected power inverters, citing "unacceptable risks" to U.S. national security. This is one of the strongest technology-security actions in modern U.S. history. The message is unambiguous: robotics is a technology America must lead and own — and foreign-subsidized robots will not be allowed to unfairly dominate U.S. robotics as they did solar. As America's largest AI-native industrial robot manufacturer by units shipped, Standard Bots strongly supports this move. We have advocated for exactly this kind of action in recent sessions with the White House and in Congressional testimony. But there's unfinished business. Today's action expressly exempts fixed industrial robot arms — the exact machines being installed next to American workers on American factory floors, and the exact category foreign manufacturers are racing to dominate. The same logic applies to them: a robot arm is a networked, sensing, actuated system, and its inverters are where electricity and intelligence become motion. If you can't trust the components, you can't trust the robot. This combined with foreign market manipulation / subsidies does not provide for a fair playing field for US companies. This gap should be closed. Standard Bots designs and builds our own drives — the inverters that convert DC power into precise robotic motion — on our own circuit board line at our flagship facility in Glen Cove, NY. We design virtually all our own parts and assemble every final robot ourselves. We need to build American robots and put them to work in American factories. This transformative technology can revitalize our manufacturing base and create millions of new jobs. Today's action is a massive step. Closing the industrial-arm gap is the next one. Let's keep going. CORRECTION: we initially misread the inverter language as banning motor controllers in stationary robots too, but a CAN/EtherCAT connection would not count as connected (/wireless) so now believe that interpretation was wrong. Reposted with correction above.

Just spent the morning at the White House complex roundtable on America First industrial policy — machine tools, advanced manufacturing, and the industrial base everything else is built on. Kicked off by Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick and White House trade adviser Peter Navarro. I was there as the founder of an American robotics company - we were the only American-born, American-owned robotics company in the room. Here's what we're all trying to solve: 🧵

And policy is finally lining up with the physics. What struck me: Lutnick and Navarro understand this at a technical level — and they're moving mountains to clear the way to reindustrialize America: – A Section 232 national-security review of robots & machinery – Full expensing + incentives for building in America – Real capital flowing to domestic production The moment to scale American robot manufacturing is now — and that’s what we’re doing.

A country that can't build its own machines has outsourced its own future. We're going to build them here, run them here, and put Americans to work doing it. Robots are how America makes things again. The future is bright 🇺🇸

Best cold email I’ve received. Apparently when you raise your series C you get this. Though not sure if it was only up for the camera exposure time. Still points for @Nasdaq - thank you!!

Before humanoid robots are ready for homes, they need to pass the "Home Alone test," according to Standard Bots CEO @evanbeard. "We think maybe humanoids are right for the home. But then you have the safety issue. When it's going up the stairs, you need two five-year-olds to be able to jump on the back of it, pull it, or try to trip it. It's the Home Alone test." "You see RL robots and it looks so impressive. I think the average person thinks 'Oh yeah, robotics is solved.' But to beat the Home Alone test, RL is not quite there and it's hard to simulate all the things that an eight-year-old could do to it. So you can't even do the RL right now. It's an unsolved problem... I think it's going to be years away from being solved in the home."
Today, we’re thrilled to announce our $200M Series C funding round at a $1B valuation, led by @RoboStrategy and existing investors including @generalcatalyst. Standard Bots is now America’s largest manufacturer of AI-native industrial robots. Our customers include Sunoco, Lockheed Martin, NASA, and the US Army along with hundreds of other manufacturers across the country. We’re proud to say that we’re on track to deploy 10% of all U.S. industrial robots by next year. We are expanding our Glen Cove, New York facility to 70,000 square feet to scale our vertically integrated production process. We currently design almost all our own parts, including our own actuators, and we assemble every final product in-house. By 2027, we’ll manufacture everything — from metal in to robots out — right here in America. We believe AI-native robots are the essential power tool of the 21st century — the tool that will grow American manufacturing and help every American worker to be a force at work. You just show your robot how it’s done, and it learns through demonstration. No coding, no consultants, just unbox and deploy faster than anything else on the market. Right now it’s possible for the United States to revitalize our manufacturing base if we become the worldwide leader in this transformative technology. We must build American robots, and put them to work in American factories. It’s a national imperative, and it’s our central mission. This fundraise gets us one step closer to the goal. The future of American manufacturing is bright! Join Standard Bots, and show your robot how it’s done — we’re just getting started.

So fun showing @IlirAliu_ , the #1 influencer on Twitter in robotics, around our factory this week. On top of being kind and super sharp, great cameraman too
China installed 9x more industrial robots than the US last year. But an American comeback is quietly underway. This startup could produce 10% of all new industrial robots in the US next year. Today, it raised $200M at a $1B valuation. Why this is a big deal... 🧵
