5 questions for the people of Gaza and all those claiming to care about Gaza’s innocents:
1. Hamas was elected by the people of Gaza in 2006. Since then, how did Hamas improve the quality of life for Gaza's residents?
Please provide specific examples.
2. Since 2006, Hamas launched tens of thousands of missiles at Israeli civilians, built a vast network of terror tunnels (not bomb shelters for Gaza's residents), and also launched countless terror attacks, most recently the #October7massacre.
Do you feel that these attacks aided the people of Gaza in anyway?
Please provide specific examples.
3. I assume that most of you (the realistic ones) understand that Hamas does not have the ability to destroy Israel - far from it.
Considering this undeniable fact, do you feel that the interests of Gaza's residents are best represented by a terror group whose sole agenda and most resources are dedicated to the unrealistic goal of destroying Israel?
4. Jordan and Egypt were at war with Israel for several decades. Since the peace treaties, Israel did not attack Egypt or Jordan, and in fact has a productive relationship with those countries.
Do you feel that dismantling Hamas and making peace with Israel may contribute to your quality of life?
If not, please elaborate and explain why an armed conflict with Israel is beneficial for Gaza.
5. Assuming you prefer to keep Hamas in power - what is your plan for the future of your children? How many more rounds of conflict will be enough?
Israel is getting more and more powerful. Hamas's military capabilities will never catch up.
Do you wish for your children and grandchildren to join Hamas and die?
*I assume that many will reply with "stop the occupation" and such.
Israel withdrew from Gaza in 2005. There is no Israeli presence in Gaza (aside for the kidnapped babies and elderly).
The border between Israel and Gaza is identical to the border between Egypt and Gaza. In fact, more people from Gaza enter Israel daily to work than into Egypt (before the war).
Every regulation imposed in the border is due to Hamas being in power - my questions are meant to understand how does Hamas being the ruler in Gaza assists Gaza's people. The existence of these regulations only further emphasizes that Hamas contributes nothing to Gaza's wellbeing.

But if you are attacking Jews for being 'Zionists' or 'Zios' or 'Global Zionism' crack on?
I think Mehdi - who has been a perfect gentleman to me when he invited me on his shows - does not see that contemporary antisemitism, antisemitic anti-Zionism, bends the meaning of Israel and Zionism out of shape until both become fit receptacles for the tropes, images and ideas of classical antisemitism.
In short, that which the demonised Jew once was, demonised Israel now is: uniquely malevolent, full of blood lust, all-controlling, the hidden hand, tricksy, always acting in bad faith, the obstacle to a better, purer, more spiritual world, uniquely deserving of punishment, and so on.
Antisemitic anti-Zionism has three components: a programme, a discourse, and a movement.
The programme is not two states for two peoples, but the abolition of the Jewish homeland; not Palestine alongside Israel, but Palestine instead of Israel.
The discourse is a distorting, demonising and dehumanising system of concepts: ‘Zionism is racism’; Israel is a ‘settler-colonialist state’ for 'White' Europeans which ‘ethnically cleansed’ the ‘indigenous’ people, went on to build an ‘apartheid state’ and is now engaged in an ‘incremental genocide’ against the Palestinians.
Add in the ugly phenomenon of Holocaust Inversion – the deliberate and systematic Nazification of Israel in street placards depicting Netanyahu as Hitler, in posters equating the IDF and the SS, in cartoons portraying Israelis as Nazis, and even in the language of intellectuals.
The global social movement seeks to exclude one state – and only one state – from the economic, cultural and educational life of humanity: the little Jewish one.
So, while it's good to oppose old school Nazi racial antisemitism, it is better still to also realise that antisemitism existed long before and long after the Nazis. And that it has always been a shape-shifter.
Antisemitism has taken on radically different forms and supposed ‘rationales’ in different cultures at different times.
Medieval priests made one claim about ‘the Jews’, Enlightenment philosophers made another. The Nazi SS officer had his claim, as did the Stalinist Central Committee Member.
Each told a different story about the alien, powerful, malevolent and tricksy Jew. Each story has served to justify a murderous attack upon the Jews who have been indicted as:
• the betrayer and killer of the universal God, drainer of gentile blood, poisoner of the wells, etc (Christian antisemitism);
• the tribal anachronism, the enemy of the Age of Reason (Enlightenment antisemitism);
• the rootless cosmopolitan, everywhere the enemy of and fifth column within organic nations (Counter-Enlightenment antisemitism);
• the biologically programmed threat to all races, to be eliminated to the last child (Nazi antisemitism);
• the sons of apes and pigs who will be killed on a Day of Judgment (some forms of Islam and modern Islamic antisemitism);
• the arch-capitalist exploiter – to be hung from the lampposts as German Communist Ruth Fischer put it, latterly the arch-colonialist (Left antisemitism);
Today, in addition to all of the above (each of which is still with us), there is a new form of antisemitism which has been the consequence of the development of a Jewish State – Israel – and the demonisation of it.
‘Zionism’, properly understood, is a movement of national liberation for the Jewish people. But it is demonised today through the antisemitic ideas of the ‘The Zios’, ‘The Zionists’, ‘Global Zionism’ and ‘the all-powerful Jewish Lobby’.
Once it was ‘the Jew’ now it is ‘the Zionist’ that is - for the contemporary antisemite - malign, still controlling the world for Jewish purposes, and still string-pulling. The ‘Zionists’ power is still seen by the antisemite as virtually unlimited, still exercised through their hidden control of global media, political parties and governments, and global finance. 'They' are still uniquely evil, the modern-day Nazis.
And that world view - for that is what it is - is antisemitism ‘dressed up’ as anti-Zionism.

Ten points that can make Palestinians win the hearts of Israelis, and drastically increase the chances for a state of Palestine:
1- Palestinians denounce, unequivocally, the Hamas massacre of 1,200 Israelis, say that no injustice justifies Palestinian murder of a single Israeli, apologize for what the deluded ones from their ranks (Hamas, Jihad, Lion's Den, etc) have done.
2- Palestinians, in consensus, demand that Hamas and all other factions surrender their arsenals, hand over October 7 perpetrators to a mixed Palestinian-Israeli court, an international one, or any credible justice authority.
3- Palestinians run a self-critique to understand the failure of the autonomous Hamas rule experiment in the Gaza Strip between 2007 and 2023, and review the PA failure in running a capable government in the strip, in 2005, which led to the Hamas takeover.
4- Palestinians promise Israel that they value Jewish sovereignty and the security of Israel in the same amount that they desire sovereignty and security for themselves.
5- Palestinians say that border between two sovereign governments that have enough mutual trust is not important (such as the case of borders between past enemies France and Germany), and that a Palestinian state can exist within any border and, as trust increases, border demarkation can proceed without breaking any deal (US and Canada, after all, disagree over parts of their border, and yet are best allies). Border here will be an administrative line, not a China Wall.
6- Palestinians recognize that their national interest is better served with a prosperous Israel next door than with charlatan populist and violent regimes like Iran or Saddam. Palestinians consider that any threat for the destruction of Israel is a threat to the existence of Palestine, that the fates of Israelis and Palestinians are intertwined, that the two states will be closest allies, and that each side will have the back of the other.
7- Palestinians understand that their good future requires turning the page on bad history. Nothing good comes from throwing good money after bad. Nothing good comes from being stuck in time and insisting on turning the clock back to 1948 or 1920 or whatever date the Palestinians think preceded their misery.
8- Palestinians make of liberty, freedom, equality, and democracy the cornerstone of their state-to-be, rather than revenge, reconquer, return, rewind, destroy Israel and create yet another lousy Levantine Arab autocracy ruling over a dumpster.
9- Palestinians put peace ahead of agreement. That'll make an agreement happen smoother and faster, as opposed to half a century of making peace incumbent on agreement, therefore telegraphing to Israel that Palestinians will keep warring until they get their way in a zero-sum game.
10- Palestinians live and let live, love and be loved.
You can't be too good to a partner. You can only choose the wrong partner. You can only choose someone who doesn't appreciate you, respect you, value you, or love you the way you deserve.
The key to lasting love is to accept the reality of who we are and who our partner is, and to love them anyway. It is to understand that all good qualities come with bad qualities, and that they are part of what makes us human and unique.
