If we’re being serious, when your work sounds similar to something someone else wrote & inspired you, you give them credits. That’s what Taylor &most artists do. You don’t send them the songs & pray they won’t ask for credit. That should be the standard if you respect the artist.

i don’t understand why she keeps doing this. there’s an established legal process for sampling music where the original artist is credited and receives royalties. why not just follow that?

🎬 | Toy Story 5 director Andrew Stanton reveals how Taylor Swift came to write “I Knew It, I Knew You” for the film in a new interview with Deadline. The filmmakers approached Taylor approximately 18 months before the movie’s release, while she was still busy with The Eras Tour. After eventually hearing about the opportunity through her brother Austin, Taylor watched a private screening and immediately FaceTimed the team to confirm she wanted to write the song. Stanton also revealed that Disney CEO Bob Iger personally called him from the recording studio while Taylor was working on the track. “It felt like kismet. It felt like Jessie’s voice. It still blows me away that it happened and that it happened the way it did.”
