I've seen enough - there is too much generative A.I. in manuscript figures. Fine, do it for lab meetings, grant award reports, whatever you need to keep things moving - but keep it out of your papers!

Knicks championship was a bigger deal in the 5 boros than the Yankees run. Just look at the ticket prices tbh. Yankees maybe a bigger national brand but their fanbase is tilted more suburban and/or people who grew up rooting for them, the Knicks are the unifying force in NYC.

Totally agree, same with pizza
Ranking bagels across all boroughs/neighborhoods is silly, you should not be making a distant journey to get a bagel in the morning you should just have a personal ranking of bagel places within walking distance, but the nice thing about New York is they're mostly all pretty good

pacifier use is so super rare by 5 that at 4 it's probably not worth stressing yourself and the kid over. There are things you can do that are in a million books but really eventually they just stop and you don't have to overthink it.
This little girl out here looking like an NFL linebacker with a pacifier 💀💀💀 Just take it away and let her have a tantrum? Lmao

The “standing on your lawn sipping coffee” meme seems to be dying out and let me say thank god that shit was never funny

“Purposely” is an unacceptable alternative to the correct “purposefully”
What's the word/grammar hill you are absolutely dying on?

This guy thinks he knows what a normal day for a human is
🇺🇸 Zuckerberg says that in 5 years you will have a personal AI that knows your life and does the work for you. "Everyone is going to have an agent that really intimately understands your goals and everything around you and can help you get stuff done." He means one assistant on money, health, the house, the calendar, running in the background all day. Meta wants that agent sitting inside the apps people already live in, so it becomes the way you get through a normal day. Writer: Lucas

Oh good NY Times has put out a list of shows you probably have seen if you went to college and have at least a master’s degree and own property

One thing that I really can’t stand is the idea of AI assisted manuscript reviews I know theoretically it’s inevitable if the no. of AI assisted manuscripts skyrockets And AI can really help with many mundane academic tasks But ms review is not one of them

many people I worked with at a big NY museum paired up with coworkers, got married, had kids (I’m one of them). Cohorts of educated people in their mid 20s with shared interests and values. Maybe it’s not as common nowadays
if u are single and a yearner DO NOT volunteer/work at a museum

Funny they don’t ask about Biden even though he was literally the only Democrat to beat Trump (and handily) in a presidential election

That feeling when you submit two separate manuscript reviews to two separate journals in one day

what say you @ass_deans
The National Science Foundation (NSF) has issued a 10-page memo signaling a retreat from its traditional role of giving grants to individual researchers to pursue their best ideas and to train the next generation of scientists. Instead, the memo makes clear, NSF will devote the bulk of its resources to addressing the research priorities of President Donald Trump and his administration, many of them technology focused. scim.ag/4ipE1kY
