and this is why writing dialogue as an autistic person is so sickening because i only ever say what i mean 😭 it’s so hard to write characters talking in the secret code i don’t even get in real life 💔

i think in dialogue (for my approach, at least) the characters should ALMOST never say what they mean. talk around the real subject of the scene with inane banter and mental gymnastics. Communicate the actual topic through subtext and symbolism
