It's always the most brain dead tiktok slop reddit brained people telling you that you should be concerned about AI eroding your thinking capabilities. Like my brother in Christ, you are a walking algorithm

The next year or so will be the great Ego Shattering. Many, MANY people are going to have their worlds turned upside down for a variety of reasons. It’s not necessarily going to go over well. Expect an even greater degree of neurotic behavior.

Greatness triggers people these days, so it has almost become a forbidden trait. To be great is to automatically be seen as subversive, or even evil.

AI is one of the best things to ever happen to artists, tinkerers, and builders. For the first time, imagination is becoming the bottleneck. Not money. Not technical skill. Not access to a studio or a team. If you can imagine it, you’re increasingly able to build it. If you’re against that, I just assume you’re an imbecile. Which is fine.
she’s so tired of generative ai

Apparently there’s a Captive Dreamer tweet for everything.
The Libertarian Party candidate for North Carolina state senate is currently in the midst of an armed chase and shoot-out with the cops, keeping us posted with live tweets:

The biggest culture shock I've experienced so far is that the Apple store in Japan doesn't lock any devices to the table

Wow, over 1,000 mathematicians have now joined the Association for Human Mathematics (AHM), committing to: > NOT publish AI generated math papers > NOT work with frontier labs > 654 of them went even further to NOT even use AI in their research, at all

With people who wanted to rob you to pay their grandmother's medical bills there could be some kind of political deal. With people who want to rob you to fund third-world invasion, there can't.

this may be my last tweet before shit goes parabolic. i’m not an ai researcher whistleblower. i work for none of the biggest labs in the world. there is currently a major bloom happening across humanity. they are hiding this from the public. we are on the verge of an era of abundance, superintelligence, cure for cancer & so much more. prepare for the best.

Elon Musk understands something that the political establishment desperately wants people to forget. Government isn’t some magical institution that protects you from concentrated corporate power. It is concentrated power. And unlike corporations, it has the legal authority to use force against you. Now imagine giving that power to a global government. One political hierarchy. Billions of people. No competing jurisdiction to escape to. No meaningful alternative when the people in charge decide your rights are inconvenient. That’s not progress. That’s the blueprint for the most terrifying monopoly in human history. Look at what’s happening across Europe. More authority concentrated in distant institutions. More regulatory power. More restrictions on speech. More decisions made by people ordinary citizens can barely hold accountable. The answer has always been decentralization, private property, free markets, and the freedom to walk away. Yet the political left keeps demanding more centralization, more bureaucracy, and more authority over ordinary people. And somehow they call that liberation. What a fucking joke.
Replying to @Rothmus
Those who are opposed to corporations and favor government do not realize that government is simply the largest, most monopolistic corporation of all and it has a monopoly on violence.

My work has encountered similar limitations over the years and only with the help of AI have I even remotely been able to make progress on it.
I've been designing content for RPGs since 1973 starting with the birth of D&D. During my run I created a new system that, back then, could not be implemented in print or on a computer, that is, when computers finally arrived on the scene. These game-system projects sat shelved, 3 of them, until AI arrived. Then, less than a year ago, I queried GROK over 2 days, back and forth, with me describing the system's parameters. I saved that 5,000 word exchange between us. In the end GROK agreed with me that the system used in my three game treatments could only be implemented through AI. GROK also noted that the system had not been implemented to date by anyone. The anti-AI crowd is not stopping my progress at finally realizing this break-through systems birth. I've been waiting for this one-time mad experiment that I papered to finally come to fruition. It's a "game" changer, and I mean that both literally and figuratively. #AI #gamedev @elonmusk @AnthropicAI #systemsthinking #complexsystems #opensystems

people worry kids will get lazy with AI. some will. others will build things at 14 that we couldn't build at 30. every generation's tools produce both. pay attention to the second group

Again, the age of discourse is over... at least insofar as "discourse" meant two groups of people with increasingly incompatible and hostile worldviews working through their differences via the traditional liberal mechanisms of open debate, free elections, and parliamentary procedure. No one even pays lip service to the idea that these things can settle our differences at this point. The mask is just falling off the face of the liberal order in real time because it was never truly a purely moral system like it pretended to be. It was a political system masquerading as a moral one, and like all political systems, it can't adjudicate what politics is supposed to be for, or who it should serve. You can expect more and more of this until one side simply crushes the other.
I’m not interested in having a substantive discussion. I’m interested in my political party using its power to damage Elon Musk and his interests as much as humanly possible. Discussion ended the moment Musk did a Nazi Salute and sent DOGE rampaging. Now I want scalps.

The fastest way to get blocked on this app without question is to respond to some moron’s unhinged take with a simple civil question. No anger, no counterpoint. Just ask them to clarify their statement with one factual detail. i’ve been blocked like 100 times this week 💀

Nobody wants a city on Mars. Nobody wants AI in every app. Nobody wants data centers in space. Nobody wants humanoid robots or flying cars. We want clean water. We want a stable climate. We want a habitable planet. We want wildlife to survive. We want to live.

It is tragic that so many people still think the news is real
A coworker of mine who once called Elon a Nazi finally said he scheduled to test drive a Model Y yesterday after he learned that I own 2 of them and we talked for an hour about how much I love them and how good FSD is. I asked him how the demo drive went and he told me he cancelled it because he saw on the news how teslas have been hitting people and crashing into trees and houses and that he doesn’t trust that kind of technology. Unreal how fragile people are and how blindly they just believe legacy media.
