🇵🇹 Cristiano Ronaldo could have published this letter any day, but he chose the day Messi is saying goodbye to Argentina.
In the nearly 2,000-word statement, Ronaldo says Jorge Jesus had personally promised him 30 minutes against Norway, then left him warming up without ever putting him on.
He admits walking out on Portugal was wrong, apologizes to the fans and his teammates, and says he accepts whatever punishment comes.
But he also says Jesus broke his word twice and that the trust between them was gone.
Ronaldo also says Jesus was supposed to publicly admit, “I made a mistake by putting someone of PELÉ or MARADONA’s stature to warm up and then not putting him in the game.”
So on Messi’s farewell day, Cristiano dropped a novel about being disrespected, complete with a Pelé-Maradona comparison he says his coach was supposed to make.
The timing is almost funnier than the quote.
A career that should have ended with applause is now being buried under ego, grievances, and one last desperate demand to be treated like a god.
