How much of this is boomer retirees moving or changing their residency to their 2nd homes?
States with no individual income tax (Florida, Texas, Tennessee, Nevada, and others) consistently rank among the strongest gainers, while states with the highest top rates (California at 13.3 percent, New York at 10.9 percent, and New Jersey at 10.75 percent) dominate the list of largest losers. Who calls his broker? What phone do they use? Do they pass scraps of paper??
Nancy Pelosi, who is regularly hammered for her perceived insider trading, has made 213 total trades since 2014. Trump exceeded that number in a single day, which just happened to precede his own tariffs announcement. My latest on the mind boggling self-enrichment:

I went to Chipotle yesterday for the first time in a while. I wonder if they saw this and now are playing up the bit, because it felt like the employees were there against their will.

Liquid lunch making a comeback.
I basically have never drunk alcohol almost ever, in part because alcoholism runs on both sides of my family, but via @ChrisMasterjohn I’ve been drinking a 1/2 oz of vodka around lunchtime every day for a couple months. Big sustained quality of life improvement—fifteen more minutes of deep sleep each night, at minimum, and probably other things. (Emphasis on “at noon” (not at night) and “1/2 oz”—I measure it.) ymmv; I have no nutrient deficiencies!

Just talked to a boomer complaining about their Medicare payment since they make too much and IRMAA comes knocking.
“I’m old. I’ve paid my home off,” said Ray Warner, a 72-year-old Akron resident. “Why would I pay property tax?” Across the country, homeowners are asking the same question and revolting against property taxes at a scale not seen in a half century. politico.com/news/magazine/2…

Men used to drink for mental health. Then they started going to therapy. Now they monitor the situation and gamble their faces off.

I appreciate all the internet doctors trying to diagnose and help, but I'm in the best hands. So everyone can relax now 😄🙏🏼 and I don’t have hiv or aids.

How long until boomers start lowering their list prices??
"In September, 1.5 million Americans were trying to sell their homes, based on the number of active listings. Only 929,000 people were buying, according to Redfin estimates. The surplus of sellers, nearly 600,000, is the largest in Redfin’s records going back to 2013" @WSJheard

Nuts. And he cramped up 2nd half.
Vinny Mauri, the 25-year-old from Warren, Ohio, who did 70 percent of his fall training on Planet Fitness treadmills, finished the Chicago Marathon in 10th place in 2:06:45. He was the third American, behind Clayton Young in seventh (2:05:23) and Charles Hicks, another 25-year-old (2:05:35). runnersworldmag.visitlink.me…

The amount of energy being burned here for tech nerds to have bots running around the clock to “optimize” their to-do list and emails is face melting.

Affluent people always forget there is a very large demographic of people they don’t interact with.
Lower than I would have guessed

This "after midterms" time period seems like a fairy tale.
