Downloaded a wallet to use digital dollars. Accidentally enrolled in a course on gas tokens, bridges, and network selection. We can do better.

Step 1: you order a hardware wallet Congrats, your home address now lives in someone’s customer database @_theopowers / @fiber_evm: “You don’t get wrenched because your assets are on-chain. You get wrenched because your address leaked when you bought a Ledger The smallest footprint wins. We ask for an email, or just a username”

Launched in stealth. Month 1: ~160 users. Month 2: 1,000+ users. Apparently people like privacy. Let’s see what future months bring.

Fiber is inevitable. Privacy made practical.
Anything ZK, privacy, or ‘quantum resistant’ is perking up right now. The tech actually matters again. Bullish.

Somewhere that's private and non-custodial.
Dex hacked Cex hacked NFT hacked Ledger hacked Cold wallet hacked Hot wallet hacked Warm wallet hacked Where is the best place to store your crypto assets with peace of mind without fear of losing your funds?

Lots of hacks recently. We hope that everyone stays safe and diligent in regards to their assets. This is proving why non-custodial platforms are still so important.

Porsche buyers, this one's for you. 20% cashback on Porsche. Forever.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Cashback is capped at $10 per user. Since the cheapest Porsche currently available is the Macan starting at $65,400, the effective cashback would be 0.015%. x.com/aadvark89/stat… porsche.com/usa/models/mac…

Privacy is popping up everywhere now. We've been building Fiber for this exact place and time. Privacy shouldn't be complicated - so we made it easy.

Seems like people love privacy.
JUST IN: $ZEC breaks above $23B market cap. The move comes from a recent governance vote, backing faster block times while maintaining its Bitcoin-style halving schedule.

Privacy is more important than ever. Balances and transactions are private on Fiber.
Say goodbye to anonymous crypto in Argentina, the government just set a hard deadline to expose every dollar you move Is that true? Everything you need to know about the new rules, and what they do to one of the biggest crypto markets on the planet 👇 This one is official, not a rumor. The OECD's Global Forum published it yesterday: Argentina committed to implement CARF and begin automatically exchanging crypto-asset transaction data with other jurisdictions by September 2029. Three facts before the takes start flying: 1) In January, Argentina was still on the short list of relevant jurisdictions that had not committed to CARF, sitting next to India, Vietnam, Georgia and El Salvador. It's now inside the group of 77 that will exchange under the framework in 2029. 2) CARF doesn't read the chain. It runs through regulated providers: exchanges, brokers, some wallets and payment companies. They identify the customer, report to their own tax authority, and that authority forwards the file to the country where the customer is resident. Banks have been doing exactly this under CRS for years. 3) The clock didn't start in 2029. ARCA's RG 5804/2025 is already collecting domestically this year, Argentina signed the CRS 2.0 addendum in July 2025, and Europe's DAC8 went live in January. 2029 is the delivery date, not the starting line. Here's how it actually works, because almost nobody is explaining this part: As I said, CARF doesn't watch the blockchain. It puts the obligation on regulated providers: exchanges, brokers, some wallets and payment companies. Once a year, each provider files a report on every customer who is tax resident somewhere else. That file carries your identity (name, address, tax residence, tax ID, date of birth) and then, for each crypto-asset, the aggregate of everything you moved during the calendar year: crypto bought and sold against fiat, crypto-to-crypto swaps, transfers in and out, including transfers you sent to a self-custody wallet not linked to any provider, plus any retail payment above USD 50,000. Gross amounts, number of units, number of transactions. It is not a balance regime, there's no year-end snapshot of your holdings, which also means moving funds around in December changes nothing. The provider sends it to its own tax authority, and that authority forwards it to the country where you live, within nine months of the year closing. Do the math on Argentina's date: September 2029 means the first file is calendar year 2028. Whatever you trade in January 2028 is already in it. Clear rules, compatible with the rest of the world, are what makes a market mature. They're the reason a foundation, an exchange or a payments company can finally justify landing in the Southern Cone and running its regional expansion from Buenos Aires instead of Puerto Rico. I spend my week in those conversations. The first question is never market size, Argentina wins that one every time. It's what happens legally if they're right about the market. That answer got shorter yesterday, and the country gets something it has never had: institutional scaffolding underneath the adoption stats. Argentina moves from adoption stats to institutional weight. Brazil has the central bank's agenda and a regulator everyone can name. Argentina had the best adoption numbers in the region and very little scaffolding underneath them. A PSAV registry, CRS 2.0 and now CARF is scaffolding. Regional headquarters in the next cycle will go to the country whose tax authority can talk to the OECD without a translator, not to the country with the loudest timeline. The cost lands somewhere specific, though. A bad implementation, or a timeline copied from a country with ten times our administrative capacity, doesn't hurt Binance. It hurts the three-person team in Rosario that now needs a reporting stack, an auditor and a compliance hire before it has revenue. Big players absorb this as a line item. Small builders absorb it by leaving, and we end up buying credibility abroad with jobs at home. So no, you're not going to see me cheering for a regulator. Not this one, not any. I got into this industry because of decentralization, because privacy is a right and not a suspicion, and because a public ledger made traceability something anyone could verify instead of something a handful of institutions could claim. Everything about a global reporting network runs against that instinct, and I'd rather say so out loud than pretend the tradeoff isn't a tradeoff. Self-custody is still there. It's also still the point. Three years sounds far away. It's one cycle. What we build here between now and 2029 gets built under rules someone in Paris, New York or Shanghai can already read, and the job for those of us on this side is making sure the smallest builders survive the transition while helping global solutions land on this side of the world.

contest is up it's been 24 hours, no one found the last code! we'll leave fly.fiber.so up and remove the AIs!
ok this is getting embarrassing. @lazy_cryptan won again. we’re putting up a 3rd and final $2k prize because apparently the rest of crypto needs one more chance to stop this man from turning Fiber into his full-time job.

Onchain privacy only becomes more important as adoption grows. When everyone is onchain, people won’t accept their balances, assets, and financial activity being visible to everyone else. Privacy isn’t a niche feature. It’s where onchain finance has to go.
