The election is over. The market called it hours ago. Objectively, it's an undisputed Democrat "sweep" all the way across the board. The Republicans have lost control of both the House and Senate. Meanwhile, Texas' US Senate and Governor races are set to flip blue for the first time since 1988 and 1990, respectively. The defining issue for voters? Affordability. The ongoing energy crisis has further fueled the affordability crisis, renewed interest rate hikes, and accelerated the K-Shaped economy. US oil prices have now traded above $100/barrel for 46 days in 2026. Tonight marks a major shift in the American political landscape.

Oh so he really has no idea what the Fed rate is
BREAKING: President Trump says the Fed should have cut interest rates to 1% or lower and says the US is “carrying” countries with which it runs trade deficits.

Why is the stock market shrugging off... everything? Well, maybe it's betting that AI will save it and that the government won't let AI fail. Call it the AI put. My new piece in NYT Opinion about the market's reliance on getting rescued: nytimes.com/2026/04/18/opini…

Markets are actively shedding the gains from today and likely to dump more in the coming days. Comments insinuated this war is “close” to being over, but then referenced historical wars and stated that in the coming weeks we would bomb more. No shot this ends soon.

So the plan for reopening the Strait of Hormuz is to just let it open naturally after we “bomb them to the Stone Age” What are we talking about man.

Sam Altman might be the anti-Christ

If AI mindlessly agrees with everything you say it doesn’t provide a productivity boost, it actually becomes a key component of groupthink. Encouraging bad ideas and reinforcing bad decisions is ultimately a threat to humanity.
Extremely dangerous for society if everyone has access to a free therapist who essentially just reinforces all your bad decisions The second and third order consequences of this are unprecedented Expect some extremely negative side effects from this, especially in children and teenagers

This is the beauty of markets in a nutshell: One guy sees P/S of a financial services company and thinks undervalued Other guy (me) sees sector average P/S of financial services as 3.2 and thinks overvalued The beauty of markets
Robinhood appears to be disconnected from it's fundamentals. Price to sales ratio: 15.6x Revenue: $4.47 billion The chart says it all. $HOOD

I’m all for Dalio posting this, but the amount of people quoting this like it’s a sign from god is ridiculous. Dalio has been posting articles about the global economy for decades and has been pretty consistently wrong in recent history. Albeit Bridgewater continues to do well 🤷🏼‍♂️

I’m convinced this administrations only agenda is to try as hard as they can to set us back 50 years

Of all the takes on AI this might be the worst
There was once $100k accounting jobs. Accounting is now obsolete.

I have spent 24 hours in Switzerland and am blow away by their train system. The ease of public transportation is remarkable. Man it would be cool if this could happen in the US

What happened to Trump being the president for peace?
🚨Alert: WAR!! Denmark prepares to declare war against the US and instructs military to kill US troops when US attempts to invade Greenland! The Danish military leadership has confirmed that Denmark’s armed forces will resist if the United States attempts to invade Greenland, which could lead to a direct conflict between the two NATO allies. According to the newspaper Berlingske, the military has standing instructions to kill American troops and fight any armed attempt to take over Greenland – even if it originates from the United States – based on a 1952 royal decree, issued during the Cold War and still in force!
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
False: OP doesn’t provide a single source for the claim that Denmark is preparing to declare war on the US. There is also no major news outlet reporting on such claims. x.com/defense_civil2…

Maybe tying financial outcomes to any difference of opinion in anything isn’t the best idea for global stability
The co-founder of Kalshi says: " The long-term vision is to financialize everything and create a tradable asset out of any difference in opinion."

Nvidia posting strong earnings is great, I still think it's important to remember that they are one piece of the infrastructure puzzle for AI buildout. The AI story is still lacking an end product use case though. Capex won't stop until we find one, but it's yet to be delivered
